Don't know how to explain my happiness about this railway station. Nice cleaning, staff, environment......... Everything is best. Feel like at home on this Railway Station. In late night need not to be worry about anything feel free to move around this station. Since it's far from highway so you can use nearest road to go to Saharanpur or in Delhi side.

Just because it is home, it is heaven on earth. But realistically this is the neglected region of NCR. What we need - a functional Road to Delhi and MORE trains and better service. The trains are crowded. And dirty...
And 'choti line' people, like most of the 'countryfolk', lack civic sense. Period.
The railway administration needs to operate more ticket counters, especially during rush hour... (Even in Delhi). And of course other services like toilets and water...
Ironically, the railway station is not connected to the main city. It is glaring example of an incompetent and disconnected bureaucracy. Why can't they open the two connecting roads on the West side. Ruskin Bond once found the town to be sleepy. I think, we have over slept.

Shamli is a district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. This district was carved out from Muzaffarnagar District on 28 September 2011 as Prabudh Nagar and renamed Shamli in July 2012. Shamli is the headquarters of the district. Shamli is located along the Delhi–Saharanpur (709B), Meerut-Karnal (709A) and Panipat-Khatima (709AD) Highways. The district lies in the fertile Doab region and hence the major occupation is agriculture. The district is known for its sugar mills and supplies sugar to neighbouring areas. Shamli is a land of farmers but youngsters are also serving in Indian Army. Shamli district comes in National Capital Region of India.[1]
