Dusk heaven in birbhum and a nice place for weekend outing with nice environment and fresh air.
The Bakreshwar River is a tributary of the Mayurakshi River. It originates in Jharkhand and flows through the entire Birbhum then meets the Kopai River.

It's one of a place to visit. Perfect for a feast for a day. There are a lot of empty jungles around where you can do picnics. Also, the dam gives one of a breathtaking view. A lot of migratory birds can be seen. You can visit the place with car and get some good view. Must 'one day tour' for me.

Bakreshwar – a known pilgrimage destination is also known as a tourist place situated in Birbhum District of West Bengal. This dam is really nice and there is so many mythological stories about the Dam.

Superb viewing calm & quite place,

This place is really beautiful, you can take an Auto-Rickshaw at an affordable price (mine was Rs.200 for 3 people - Dam + other sight seeing), and travel for this beautiful place with your family, friends or loving one for a wonderful trip.
Roads are always clean and peaceful, cold breeze will welcome you on reaching the large road entering the dam.
Must VISIT this place.

This place is also known as Nil Nirjon. A nice place to hang out with friends and family. This place is also known for picnic spot in winter. In winter this place is birding paradise. The species available in this dam are Bar headed goose, Greylag Goose, Red Crested Pochard, Tufted Ducks, Coots, Gadwalls, Ruddy shelduck, Northern Shoveler, Northern Pintail and also some raptors like Osprey, Marsh Harrier, Greater Spotted Eagle , Buzzards.

One of the best places to visit.Best time to visit will be in the evening when the place looks stunning.the roads are clean and well maintained not much crowded you can just go and relax with no surrounding sounds and enjoy your time.I highly recommend this place to visit in the time of dask when the place is truly magical.
