Situated at Kotasur village just beside the Mayureswar-II Block Office, it's just 7 K.M. distance from Sainthia Railway station and located on the Road of Sainthia-Berhampore State highway. It has mythological importance, there is hearsay that Mother Kunti alongwith Pancha-Pandab and Droupadi took shelter during there living incognito period at Kotasur. More rumor is that there is a large size lamp of stone as a symbol of "Kunti Pradeep".
"Madaneswar Shiv Mandir" is a very holy, ancient and good looking temple, The "Pradip" used by "Mata Kunti" of the Mahabharat and the knee-cap of Bakasur, both are remarkble things to see at this temple.

This temple is marvellous. Green sorroundings. Shade of greeneries is soothing.

Seems that this temple has some relation with Kunti and Pandavas of Mahabharata Age.

Tarapith is a town and Hindu pilgrimage site located in Rampurhat subdivision of Birbhum district of the Indian state of West Bengal. The town is particularly known for its Tantric temple and its adjoining Hindu crematory ground. The Tantric Hindu temple is dedicated to the goddess Tara. Tarapith is also famous for Tantric saint Bamakhepa, who worshipped in the temple and resided in the cremation grounds.
