Gandhi Statue Circle

Its in the middle of 3 roads......one sloping down from ghantaghar.......another opposite to that towards the auditorium and the third i.e opposite to the sbi is towards mohanpura. Its clearly visible from far from the 3 roads........

When i lived there in 2010-2012 i daily pass by this chowk.....i was one of the memorable things in the heart of the aberdeen bazaar........

This s basically the Great Gandhiji's biggest statue in Andaman .

It is main place to identify the other areas and next is Govt Bus Stand, State Bank of India, Mohanpura and Municipal Council

It is one of Center and old attraction of Port Blair. Even before the tourism was developed in the islands it was one of kind thing here. It is also a place for grand celebration of Gandhi jayanti on 2nd of October every year

It's beautiful, right at the centre of Aberdeen bazar and the bus terminal. My only and only request is to the people who visit Port Blair to not throw garbage on the streets. Andamans is fast becoming a very popular tourist spot and the administration needs to take the garbage/plastic problem very very seriously. It is a landmark in Andaman from here the local market or Aberdeen Bazaar starts as well as if you are facing Aberdeen bazar right you will find SBI Bank ATM to withdraw and deposit cash , to your left you find the bus stand which runs the whole city and out skirts and North Andaman as well... And straight you will find Aberdeen Bazaar where you can shop. If you are traveling in auto you can say them to drop you near Gandhi statue and you can take a pleasent walk throught the market towards the beach Marina park.

The normal Indian road vibe but the only thing different is the beautifully maintained statue, right now they have planted new saplings for decoration though.
