The location and the hospitality is the best. Mr.Amit, the manager, went out of his way to make our whole trip smooth even though there were last minute changes in our schedule due to weather conditions

This estate is simply superb to stay in and the ambience is amazing. The deodar room in which we stayed was absolutely beautiful. The location is best to top it. There are some treks arranged by the owner of the property which is absolutely worth it. Overall a pleasant stay with tasty food and an amazing location.

Best place to stay close to nature and away from daily hectic schedule. Rooms are great with awesome view. Lots of peaceful trekking can be done near the property (especially waterfall treck). If you are a dog lover, then you will love the place even more but they do not intrude in your stay. All the staff, especially Bhawna ji and Govind ji are humble and makes sure your stay remains memorable.
I visited the property a few days back with my family and stayed in Pine cottage. I enjoyed every moment of it.
As the name suggests, it is a place for "Itmenaan". Just relax, enjoy the scenic views, enjoy great food, go on trekking, enjoy candle night dinner and picnic lunch and play with dogs if you want to.
Will look forward to visiting again in the future...

My wife and I stayed at Itmenaan, Chalnichinna for 4 nights and it's been the most delightful and amazing experience. The beautiful and captivating property and the surrounding Himalayan view just uplifts your soul. You can hear a calming and soothing silence here.

The staff and kitchen defined hospitality and went beyond throughout our stay. The amazing food, most welcoming and accomodating nature of all the staff made it a truly delightful experience. Special thanks to Govindji he made us feel truly at home and conjured up any special requests like a charm!

Please do let them know if you are fond of dogs, then they let them roam free around the property and do say hello to Jojo from us, he spent most of his time in our room!

We stayed at more aggressively advertised "luxurious" (but totally lacking in hospitality) properties around the hills in Uttarakhand too and we checked out in less than a day, they come nowhere close to the beauty of Itmenaan nor in the welcome, warmth and hospitality of this fine place.

Recommended room: Deodar Cottage!

Amazing serene peaceful place to stay and spend time with nature. True to its name "Itmenaan".

Food was amazing. We also did a picnic lunch to the waterfall. Bit steep but we were able to do it. The guide was very careful and took good care of kid during the trek. All the staff members are attentive and polite.

Reaching the property location can be bit tricky as it's not exactly as per Google maps but Amit Ji was calling every hour to guide us the way.

Govind Ji was waiting for us in the parking to pickup the luggage and get our vehicle parked.

Overall a relaxing and calm place to stay with good people around to serve you with tasty and healthy food.

Each place in mountain has distinct characteristics. For a property managed by a group company unlike homestays, Itmenaan provides quite a good service with very helpful staff. Our motivation to visit this place was for 3 nights stay was to enjoy rains , fresh weather and just relax, not going anywhere, talk, read books and chill. Perfect for that. Food is quite good though we have had better in other mountain places. Views are perfect. A waterfall just a little trek away , and if season , pluck fruits and eat fresh.
Nice relaxing.

If you are looking to catch views of great Himalayan views and stay at a place with local culture and great hospitality. This is the place for you. We were a group of 3 and stayed in the Oak rooms, the staff took care of us thoroughly. Although I wouldn't recommend it for the elderly. Would love to visit again!

Beautiful place and hospitality. They really need bed warmers because it's insane cold in December.

Hey, I just updated the review from 4 star to 5 star. I have been to this place 4-5 times. It's a zillion years away from Delhi and quite hard to reach.

However, once we are there, it's never a decision to regret. The best thing about a place is the people who run it. The entire staff is so cordial and helpful that I can't appreciate them enough. Bhavna, Subhraj, the chef's did their best to make us feel at home, and just want to appreciate it here. Missed Uday Singh ji who usually takes me on a walk to Navgaon. Other time.

I am sure, no matter how hard, will reach again sometime. Thanks.

Beautiful place to explore! Right in the middle of nature with green terraced fields as far as the eyes can see. Loved the food, great views! The staff were extremely friendly who took care of all our needs. Only problem I had was that we had to climb down to the lounge for dinner at night! Other than that, this place is a dream and would love to visit again!!

I heard the best time visit the Kumaon region was in October but I visited in June and I was still swooned by the beauty of the place! That trip was a dream, after the ride from Kathgodham station I thought I would be crashing on a bed but I was surprised with myself as the place was so serene. Time was still here, you could definitely tell what time of the day it was without a watch. The food kept coming in, special mentions to the bed tea service. I went on the walk to the waterfall on the property with a friendly smiling staff who was full of wisdom. In all I felt like I was in a fairyland, still dreaming of the splendid trip I made in July 2018.

A soothing experience. Majestic place. The food is yum. The trek to the resort is a bit tough for elderly and kids. The only thing they should focus upon is the route from room to dinning hall in the night is a bit risky and should be lightened properly.

For a perfect place for those who need a break from their busy life and the regular social media madness.... as the network is really not available except for the dining area where the connection is switched on at request.
One has to park the car in a nearby market at Chalnicheena and walk down the valley to the resort. Guys from the resort will come up to carry your luggage down to the resort. It a 1.25 kilometer trek down and up so once you reach the resort your won't feel like going up frequently all the way up which is a good thing. Not advised for old people who have issues climbing up. Hiking sticks are provided but one can carry their own as we did for convenience. But a regular trek up is advised as there is a nice old temple which one can visit along with a small village nearby. There is also a down trek to small waterfall which one can visit. The entire walk will take about 3.5 hours which is a good exercise and make you feel hungry. The food is cooked fresh and is very tasty.
The staff is very helpful and can fetch snacks/drinks from the village market at request.
The resort is in the valley amidst a thick vegetation of beautiful flowers, peach, walnut and pear trees frequented by many species of birds. The resort is an old property converted into an estate with all modern facilities. Spiders and few insects are a common site in the around the room and bathroom but it's not much of a bother if you believe in peaceful coexistence.
The famous Jageshwar Dhaam which is a group of ancient shiva temples is just a 30mins drive and should be visited.
Overall a very good experience and worth a visit.

This is the best place to relax and forget about the hustle and bustle of city life. The rooms are redesigned old village houses, which makes your stay all the more of an experience. They have individual cottages for a completely isolated stay.
The food is good and the staff is excellent.
The one drawback of the property, especially for elderlies is that it's a 15 minute hike from the main road and could pose challenge to some.
Other than that, It is really truely a place at peace and itmenaan.

Completely shutoff from urbanization. A great example of offbeat travel and luxury. Had a good 3 night stay there, a gadget detox. Even to reach the property we have to do a 1 km hike and that adds more charm although I heard some guests complain. I didn't mind it. When you come to a place like Itmenaan you just don't come to stay at a hotel, it is an experience and learning opportunity. Would recommend it to everyone who wants to explore rural India!

We were looking for a place to work from home for a week and then we found Itmenaan. Right from the booking till our descent back home, the entire experience was awesome. Nousha, our online booking support helped us at every step cordially, she provided all the right & accurate information and made our booking experience flawless. On our way to estate & through out our stay we were very well received, guided & managed effortlessly by Bhavna, she was always there at any point in time and helped us resolve every slightest of an issue also that we may have encountered. The staff - Shivraj, Govind, cook - Ramesh and all other behind the scene made our experience very very special. Their hospitality is better than many of the established chain of 5 stars. I have no words for the staff & local care taker of Itmenaan. Its an awesome place but the stay is made special by the homely, caring & well trained staff.

I am sure it is a reflection of the estate owner that reflects in their team.

All the bets Itmenaan. Hope to come again soon!

Had a great 2 night stay at this charming property in Almora. Was sceptical initially as there were many options near the Binsar area. But as we stepped into the premises we knew we had made the right choice! There are lots of birds, butterflies and an occasional honey bee! Went on one of the walk around the property there is even a small waterfall and stream in the property, absolutely magical. The best time to come is in Oct/Nov when the views are excellent and you can see the Nanda Devi range!

This resort, is the best I've been to in a while. You can look forward to some awesome views of the Himalayan Range, some very fulfilling walks, an extravaganza of flora and fauna, a pho(or faux)tographer's paradise, great local food by the hosts, privacy like never before, peace in nature, views that'll make you sigh and above all, an excellent team at the Estate, to look after your every need.

From the people who organise things for your stay - Amit, the Manager - to the staff that receives you - Kheem Singh & Uday Singh ji - the staff that looks after you - Shivraj and Govind - including the gardener - Bhim Singh - everyone is a delight.

A special appreciation for Govind ji who was a saviour for us! And also Udai Singh ji, who for his age can give any city youngster a run for his money when it comes to fitness levels.

Of course, just remember this isn't a hotel. So be inclusive of this fact when planning a trip.

Fabulous.

Although you have to trek for about 30 mins to reach the property, we thought it was a 10 min hike before.

But once you reach the property its simply amazing. The service is fantabulous.

Kudos to the team.
