Sangli is the seat of the district. This is an octagonal shaped Bhuikot fort in this district. This fort is built after Shivakala. The fortifications of the fort are strong. The fort towers are circular in shape and have a 13 feet deep moat. The gate of the fort is 21 feet high and is between two towers. The fort has a grand building called Diwankhana. Earlier many wastes were in the fort itself. The fort houses an archaeological museum.

Old fort now used as Government buildings. Museum is closed on Mondays.

The Sangli Fort is now used by the government as a court. There is a huge entrance (or darwaza) and few remains of the fortification. There is a main darbar hall in the premises which is open to visitors. The darbar hall now houses an old statue of Lord Ganpati, the family god of patwardhans. The annual Ganpati festival is also held here. One can see wooden pillars and lanterns inside. The place is well maintained. No photography is allowed inside. However, other old buildings in fort premises (other than darbar hall) are now government offices and court. If you are a history and antiques lover, there is a small museum right behind the Darbar Hall.

Its a best place to visit. It has very tall poles inside this building. They say... King has brought those wooden things from North. It has very clean, neat and well maintained place. It has a Very Good museum behind this building . Its also must visit place.

There isn't a fort actually, only remnants. But there is a temple in the house of the erstwhile rulers that is a must see. Tall wooden pillars, approximately 25 ft or more. The entire temple is in wood - not like anything I have seen elsewhere.

The best place to get mind peace , as this God Ganesha temple is 175 years old and when u enter in the temple u can feel the cool, healthy and happy environment around you. They have maintained the cleanliness.

This is great place, where is the government's court- cachrys will takes place. There are lots I illigle works happen. Also there was lots of shops which serves you the forms fillings and advices from the advocates. And another fact is that, there was Police station with a court. Actually, this place is the "Governmental Agency Area" in Sangli area. This place is also known as, Rajwada Area by Sangli's local area. Plus this place have a great historical place. The construction of this area belongs from elder Indian culture and from the British time design. There was the Ganapati Temple which was great. Also behind this area, there was a Patavardhan Highschool, which have some what same like a construction design like this area. So, that's a great place to see that.
