Very dense forest.. Curvy roads were amazing to ride on (continental GT 650)..went on a weekday so absolutely no people or traffic..it was so isolated and dense forest that I got scared sometimes that any wild animal might come ..make sure to have enough petrol coz u won't find civilization for many km after u enter ..

Sathyamangalam tiger reserve, a forest less crowded than Bandipur. Nature is lush green here and animal sighting chances are better than Bandipur. A 240km drive from Bangalore, Sathyamangalam is well known forest for being the prime hideout of the sandalwood decoit Veerappan. Towards Coimbatore a road through the jungles and a 27 hair pin hill drive will blow your mind.

There was hardly any stay available while my first visit in 2017. But some popped up these days with quality bread and breakfast deep interior in the forests.

Can be a photographer's paradise and a good relaxation with family and friends. Own vehicle is the only possibility to explore the forest.

I had gone here in bike. It was an awesome bike trip. I really enjoyed the nature with twist and turns of the road. Fortunately I have noticed a tiger just in 20 feet distance while i was riding my bike. Never seen a tiger in such a short distance in the jungle it was goosebumps moment. Just for some ten seconds and it went inside the thick Forest.

If you are riding in bike for the first time through this route better dont plan alone. Plan with group of friends so that it I'll be safe. Roads I'll be perfect for travellers and bikers.

It is possible to notice wild animals on the way. Do not stop the ride unnecessarily in dense forest area. Because it is not safe to stand. One more important thing is please do not throw litter inside the forest please keep it clean.

Overall it was an awesome experience. One of the must visit place in Tamilnadu.

Excellent views inside the jungle. There were sharp turns when ascending the zig zag curvy mountain trails and one can get spectacular views before entering the jungle. Inside reserve forest it was thrilling and the forest is dense so we sometimes had goosebumps while gazing inside. Could find flock of spotted deer and wild boar. Monkeys are on abundance. The last 30-40 km stretch was hectic as the roads were broken and hardly one can speed up to 30km/hr. There is no way one can get down for some rest or buy some food for munching, so before entering check your snacks as well as finish your pee stories. Then almost 2hrs you won't get option to stop by. One must visit to enjoy the serenity of a dense forest can provide. Wonderful experience!!!

This is a preserved Forest area, pristine in that this Place still remains unpolluted by the crowdy Tourists because Entry to this Place is strictly restricted.
We have to book Accommodation online with the Forest Department for the Government Rest House which is quite pricy but worth it. Private Resort Hotels are also available just outside the Talamalai Village Entry Point.

A wide variety of Animals inhabit here; Jeep and Bus Safaris are available on prior booking.
