Vidyasagar University

In 2017, I qualified M.Sc. in Chemistry from this university. The quality of education is very good with minimal educational fees. One can stay in hostel also with very less amount of monthly charges. Although, food quality in hostel was not that much good during my time. Recently I visited university, now it's more beautifully decorated.

Vidyasagar University is a very well known university having excellent faculties and the Campus Area is also vast, neat and tidy. Classes are held regularly and teachers are Student - friendly. Besides having various Departments, it also has a Santhali language Department for the students who are interested to study their regional language. It shows the University's inclination towards preserving its rich cultural tradition and the regional culture of the Adivasis of Bengal.....The university was established on 29 September 1981 by the Vidyasagar University Act 1981 (West Bengal Act XVIII of 1981) of the state of West Bengal to commemorate Pandit Iswar Chandra Bandyopadhyay, also known as Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, the great educationist and social worker of 19th century Bengal. The University Grants Commission accorded recognition to the university under Section 12 B on 1 March 1990.
Vidyasagar University, named after one of the most illustrious sons of Bengal as well as one of the doyens of Indian Renaissance, Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar, has grown out of a long cultural and education movement in West Bengal in general and in the undivided district of Midnapore in particular.
A short history of Vidyasagar University is written by a faculty of the Anthropology Department in Bengali which was published in January 2001 from Kolkata. In this book the author being one of the founder teachers of the university narrated the missions of the institution as well as the deviations and the future possibilities in the context of globalization.....

Campus area is very beautiful and surrounding by green forest.

The University is located on the left side of medinipur bus stand - rangamati road, just behind the Raja NL Khan women's college. University has good infrastructure. Excellent place. The university campus is free from plastic and other wastes and poses a green environment. Students are meritorious, Vidyasagar University is one of the best university of West Bengal. All subjects are tought here. Also the university has DE mode of education. Canteen facility is available inside the Universityniversity campus. Xerox and book shop is also available inside the University campus. UCO bank is also available inside this campus, so that anyone can get admission by drawing a UCO bank challan. The University campus is too large and 3 entrance gate is available.

It is located about 2.5 kilometres from the midnapore central bus stand. It's a big rounder beautiful place & good environment for study.

I was here on 6th september2018. The place is extremely quite and calm. Too much greenery and plastic free environment. Surely an ideal place for studying. Since I was there on Teacher's Day all students came well dressed and class rooms were decorated. The place is huge as you can see in the picture. If you the the 2nd pic you will notice how many sections it has. Place is wide. For administrators there are e-rishwa available for them to go one department to another. 2 wheelers are also available inside within the mentioned speed limit. Whole place is well guarded gives you an secure environment. The best part is sometimes you could simply be mistaken that you are living inside of a well put together forest that gives you an extra edge of living close to the mother nature. 2nd best thing would be the people. Starting off with security guard to all stuffs are very polite and gentle. Tells you whatever you want to know. Sometimes they stuck conversion on different topic specially if you are not from this place. Overall my experience was terrific. Would love to visit here someday.

The university is an well recognised and prominent institute in west bengal offering undergraduate postgraduate and doctoral courses with multiple specialisation. Talented faculties are here. Environment is marvelous. Good relationship amongst teachers and students.

Most popular university in Purba & Paschim Medinipur and also West Bengal. Very good atmosphere area for Study. I love it very much ❤

Vidyasagar University was established in the year 1981 in Midnapore town of West Bengal, about 115 km away from Kolkata with an aim to establish an educational institution in the remote areas of our country.
