Puja Kumar Studio of Fine Arts

Puja Kumar is an exceptional artist and mentor. Her impeccable teaching style made it a breeze for me to learn and paint florals in loose style. Her course is well curated (with inclusion of live and recorded sessions) which caters the needs of a beginner to an advanced artist.

Have done many watercolour courses but I find Puja has been extremely generous with imparting her knowledge and techniques. The flow of the course gives you enough time and guidance on how to proceed.
What I loved most was the patience shown and the guidance on how to actually apply colour theory and composition in practical terms.
While all skills are learnt through practice, guidance on how to practice can help reduce the learning curve and that's what you get here! I would highly recommend anyone who wants a refresher or learn from scratch to join Pujas sessions. Somethings may need to be unlearnt so go with a fresh mind to get the best out of it.

My name is Marzia and I'm from Italy. I stumbled into watercolors during the first COVID pandemic lockdown and just fell in love with all those incredible works of art I could see. I started to practice on my own following YouTube and Instagram tutorials but couldn't really get much out of it, especially when I tried to paint flowers! And then I found Puja's account on Instagram and I just couldn't believe I could have the incredible opportunity to attend a course with her!!! I wrote her and she replied straight away, so I enrolled in the beginners floral course and I ended up following the intermediate and advanced course as well!
Puja is a generous, incredible teacher and each and every lesson will guide you through an increasing difficulty, all explained with patience, tips, tricks, leading to understand the techniques and understand when and where to use them.
At the beginning I was skeptical about the recorded lesson (first and last one are live) but I must say that for me it's a winning choice: this way I can follow at my peace and submit my paintings to the teacher when I'm ready. Puja will correct every single paint with advices and/or short videos. Plus, sharing experiences, advices and support with classmates is something I really enjoyed.
Just one alert: Puja's courses are addictive!

Puja is a wonderful teacher. I always wanted to paint flowers but was too afraid because I’d never painted them before and had also lost touch. But with her guidance one learns quickly and also develops interest in it. The entire journey for me has been very liberating and gives immense pleasure!

Puja Kumar offers online courses in florals and other topics. Her classes are very enjoyable and tons to learn. The format is a couple zoom classes and online demos combination. She is very patient in answering all our questions, very informative and very free is sharing tips and her style. I really enjoyed the class and her charges are very reasonable. I made the mistake of taking the intermediate directly. I would strongly urge to take the beginners though her first zoom session and a couple of demos may be very basic but her intermediate class is built on the basic. Hence the suggestion. All is all her classes are highly recommended. Thank you Puja.

Hi, I have completed Begginer's floral class with Puja. It was an amazing experience. She is such a nice teacher, starts with the basic concepts n literally holds your hand throughout the journey. Even if you are behind in the class ,she takes out time to clear your doubts. And even takes one on one session if needed. I could not find a better mentor than her.

I have been a great admirer of Puja’s beautiful water colour florals . Joined her Floral beginners course in watercolours during lockdown last year. Wasn’t sure if I could start painting again after so many years..but Puja took us all along gently and effortlessly- guiding us and sharing the finer details of water colours . Joined her Intermediate course and later the Advanced course too. Getting to learn from her was the best thing to have happened during the pandemic. I had seen Puja's work and choose details on Instagram and I got in touch with her for her course. After seeing some of my own paintings she advised me to go for the intermediate course. The zoom demonstrations at the beginning and end of the course were extremely informative and and Puja comes across as a young,friendly and informed teacher and guide for her students. She gives you encouragement and guidance during the course, constantly checking the attempts uploaded by her students. She is extremely patient..I am amazed at her efforts to repeat and explain things that must be so plain and simple for her but I couldn't get my head around😀.. But no impatience shown. She explains the importance and use of the brushes and gives input on her favourite paints, paper,etc.. And the number of exercises she assigns to us.. There is enough material in the form of video demonstrations also to keep the different busy practising.. she has really put in a lot of effort in organising and conducting her classes and I must say i see a change in my floral paintings which I though I would never achieve. The effort has to be on my side. Nothing leaking from Puja's end. I really enjoyed the process and the interaction and I hope to join her course again....

Her workshop was my foray into true watercolors. And I haven't looked back since then with her continued support. Her techniques provided great deal of understanding of the medium and composition as well. Her teaching was excellent and she patiently took us through each and every stroke. I don't think I would have progressed this far unless for her teaching of watercolors. Truly blessed to have been her student and still learning from her.
