Akkar Bridge at Jorethang, South Sikkim that flows over Rangit River is the India's first Cable-stayed concrete bridge. Designed by Bergermann and Partner, Stuttgart was completed in 1989.  Materials used are steel for cables and concrete in rest of the structure. Its length spans 2 x 77 m, deck width 11.10 m and its pylon height 54.60 m

Grteat. The bridge connects west bengal and sikkim. If you come from bijanbari, west bengal to sikkim you have to cross the bridge. The construction of the bridge is great.you may count the bridge as visited point. It is very near to jorethang market and jorethang car parking place.

Akkar Bridge that connects Planned town Jorethang with rest of West District of Sikkim is most probably the 1st Cable-stayed concrete bridge in Sikkim and in the country too. It gets it's spectacular looks during Makar Sankranti Festival in the mid of January every year.

Aakar bridge one of the most strongest bridge in india connect two places that is jorethang in the south and nayabazar in the west. This suspended bridge is really one the famous trouist place in jorethang. A good air flow 24×7 above the bridge due to which lots of crowds gather here during summer days especially during the nights.
