Baba Amte Samadhi

It's a beautiful quiet place. Baba Amte preferred to be buried with trees all around that found nourishment from his body. It has a sacredness about it. The stone sculptures add a feeling of balance.

It's calm and quiet place and every body should visit this place just to have glimpse of what this great man had done for social cause sacrificing own well being as then Jahagirdar family. No words can describe his work in few words.

Anandwan is located in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. The place has Samadhi of shri Baba Amte.
Anandwan was established in by Baba Amte, who invested whole of his life for mamav seva, with a hope of giving marginalised people a dignified life through self-reliance and restoring a sense of belonging which they had lost due to the ill treatment at the hands of society. Mainly leprosy patients are reestablished.

The mission of the society is to bring back hope to those who have been shunned from society. They try to create a sense of belonging through collective effort and providing people access to better healthcare facilities, quality education and an occupation of their choice, we give them the right and means to lead a successful life. Initiatives in healthcare, education, agriculture and agro-industries, small and medium scale industrial units, renewable energy and conservation have been taken up by MSS. Anandwan can be termed as the Center for Rural Innovation and Incubation because a wide range of activities.

This is near Wardha district at Anadvan ,a seperate Village ofaround 2000 people ,they all are cured from the laperacy & disabled people & able to perform all kind of activities inside the premises, like farming ,spining , weaving, singing ,painting ,woodkarving etc many activities,they have a hospital there

It's a beautiful place where renowned social worker Baba Amte and his wife Sadhana Tai amte's physical remains were buried. Both chose burial instead of cremation as they believed it is an environmentally friendly option. The place has many beautiful native trees and you feel a calmness.
Many other volunteers and donors who were connected with Maharogi Sewa Samiti have also memorial trees.
Opposite of the samadhi is another memorial representing trees that were chopped for various reasons. Also, next to it is memorial which serves for female infanticide.

The path to the place has many beautiful indigenous trees which provide a wonderful green canopy.

The story I heard ws like this, Baba at his very young age walking through the Farmside and saw a person affected by Leprosy...
His heart got melt and shocked with his condition, took oth to himself that he will serve the people with Code- कुष्ठ रोग - Leprosy..

Created the one of it's kind a Village named Aanadwan, Jungle of Happiness...

Further projects like Somnath Shavani, Hemalkasa Project add on with his heirs working Vikas and Prakash Aamte and others...

Bharat Jodo Yatra in 1985-87 was one of it's kind to unify Modern age Bharat-India ...

The rating is for the kind of work these guys are doing and that is giving dignity to the marginalized people in the society. Inspirational place if you wanna dedicate your life to a social cause.
But having said that the place is nicely managed and maintained.

In today world where people think in isolation, this place teach us how the Baba Amte family is devoting time for social cause. Really inspirational to see the how the people are uplifted and made to live life of dignity. Parents must visit this place with children and I am sure they learn the lot of things which are never taught in books/school.

Amazing work being done here. Physically challenged people are being trained to make useful products & be self sufficient & independent. Education, food, shelter & medicine being provided. Hats off to Amte family & their team for this selfless service to society.

A memorial of a great social reformer and environmentalist. Even he is not with us, his ideology and his dreams are carried out by his family in a most impressive way. A perfect role model. You can find a cemetery for the cut down trees. The only cemetery in the world built for the memorial of Cutdown trees.

A great place to visit ,Very motivational place with many things to learn and explore,all greenary around with natural beauty, surrounded by many talented people who are deaf,dumb,shows their ability and capability to do the work.Also talent shows their creativity.Many things to learn .A one of the nicest place to visit with family & friends.

Anandvan... It's name indicates happiness... And it is exactly the place where you can get happiness... It's like a big society.. lake.. building for the special person.. garden.. and mega kitchen... For visitors they also provide lunch... People live their normal daily life.. make many of the things by their hands and sell them... For that... Their's a building.. on Sunday.. we cannot go to every place in anandvan... Soo iff you want to see them.. go in week except Sunday.. if u r planning a trip.. you must go to ramdegi.. a famous place for nature and waterfall... 27 kms from this... And I think... It will be perfect package for you...!!!!
