A place to visit for all devotees, especially who are suffering from yelarai sani. Visiting Saturday is good, but heavily crowded in early morning times.

Taking bath in nala thirtham, visit vinayagar temple near it and then go to dharbaranyeswarar temple. This is the way to worship.

Be cautious while visiting nala thirtham. Many people taking bath in nala thirtham are not maintaining cleanliness and are not aware of what they are leaving out on steps. Just leaving oil packets, soaps, shampoo packets and their dresses on the steps itself and not aware that if people step on it may fall off when they step on it. Securities are not there to properly instruct as well.

Apart from this, visiting temple and worshipping gives lots of positive vibes and divine experience.

One of the Navagraha temples dedicated to Shani (Saturn). The temple architecture is simply beautiful. It usually gets crowded on weekends. Paid darshan is also available in the temple.

It probably draws highest crowd among the Navagraha temples. Definitely a must visit.

Dont fall for commercial target shopkeepers and temple priests.
Its a shame for Tamil and Hindu culture that whole temple is targeting money only.
Few useful points:
1.You can walk with Slipper and bag till nalan theertham, dont listen shopkeepers. You can keep the baggage and slippers in free cloak room near the free dharshanam entrance.
2.Dont buy 50rs for shiva and 100rs archanai plate for sani from shops like in photos during weekends, these things u will be throwing away just after entering temple, no archanai will be carried with your things.
3.The nalam theertham should be used for a gentle dip to clean your sins (not to clean your body), but the dumb people use soap and shampoo making the water a ditch. Yenda , kulikkava inga varinga??
4.after nalan theeertham use nearest pay and use bathroom for around 20rs per person to bath a again in clean water to avoid infection.
5.The free dharshanam people are treated like dogs, but 100,500 and VIP dharshanam people are allowed in main gopuram gate and their archanai is handled inside the temple with additional money.
6.dont blindly listen and give money to anyone . Take your time , roam around and understand the practices followed there.
7. Coconut breaking in Vinayagar temple of nalan theertham can be carried by your own, not compulsory to give money and carry through transgenders.

Beggars and Priests should not dictate and demand money , they should graciously accept whatever we give , even if we could not able to give anything.

Whoever coming to the Thirunallar temple, i wish you get blessings from Dharbaaranyeswaran and Saneeswaran !

It's a Must to visit Shrine of Lord Shani bagavan(Thirunallar)... The temple premises is good and they have provided basic amenities for people visiting the shrine from various locations..it is best to take a holy bath before making a visit inside the temple, Concerned authorities are taking care of temple premises really well....

One of the important Navagraha temple must to visit.
This temple is near karaikal. Always this temple will have full rush. It's good to take the bath in the temple pond(exists in less than 1 km) and then visit the temple. When we take bath, we have to leave the cloths there itself. No soap/shampoo is allowed for bathing, only shikkai powder is allowed. Lot of fishes are there in pond, which cleans up the pond automatically. Though thousands of people take bath, pond gets cleaned by itself.

In temple, we find separate shrine for lord shiva and lord sani. On daily basis at some specified timings there will be abhishekam performed to maragatha Lingam. I was lucky to see it. Temple authorities keep maragatha lingam in a locker (which we can see during the abhishekam).

Coming to main diety lord Shani, he is the one who turns our life in different angles. Whoever are facing issues, visit him and get the issues cleared.

Don't bring anything from temple. Not even coconut and bananas.

Lot of parking space available, but need to go early to get place.

The temple is located in Karaikal about 60 kms from Kumbakonam. The main deity here is Darabaranyeshwara - Lord Shiva. Goddess Parvathi is also housed in this temple complex. The Saneeswara temple is a small garbhagudi at the entrance to Goddess Parvathi temple.

This place is a must visit if you are on a Navagraha tour.

Visiting someplace new is always an exciting affair, especially when we seek tranquillity and freedom from worldly chaos. The quietness you seek and the freedom to let go of any worldly expectations is gratifying and indescribable. Your trip is all set to touch base with inner peace if it's a temple you're planning to visit. Imagine arriving amidst a quaint setting and serene vistas, and you'll realise you're in Puducherry. Think of an immersive aura with divinity all around you, and you'll know it's the Sri Dharbaranyeswara Swamy temple!

#Trivia: This Temple is one of the 275 Shiva Sthalams!

About the Sri Dharbaranyeswara Swamy Temple
Dharbaranyeswarar is another name for Lord Shiva, and the Dharbaranyeswarar Temple is a Hindu temple named after him. The deity represents Adi Shakti as the central figure of worship here, while Praneswari Amman represents his spouse Parvati.

#Trivia: The temple is one of the nine temples associated with the Navagraha or the nine planetary deities.

History of Sri Dharbaranyeswara Swamy Temple
According to mythology, Nala ruled this region filled with tropical grass known locally as Darba. The location became known as Darbaranyam (Aranyam indicates forest while Darba is grass). The movement of the planet Saturn has a detrimental impact on people's life. Saturn's planetary motion also impacted Nala on a day when he ignored customary hygiene routines. He stayed at the temple to avoid the curses of Shani, the planet Saturn. He prayed to Shiva, pleading with him to protect all devotees afflicted with Shani who came to the shrine.

#Note: It is believed that devotees take a plunge in oil in Nala Theertham, the temple tank, and wear black as it signifies the colour of Lord Shani.

Location of Sri Dharbaranyeswara Swamy Temple
Resting in the midst of a forest, the Dharbaranyeswarar Temple is situated near Kumbakonam - Karaikkal Main Rd, Nalankulam, Thirunallar

powerful god!
Saturday will be very rush in the morning but going in saturday is special! We visited on Monday around 11.40pm. no crowd. Around 12 pm we can watch abishekam. 50rs ticket is not needed during weekdays as you can freely watch.
Try to avoid going earlier it may lead you to stuck in crowd, go around 11-12 AM you will find crowd is lesser. Other days it’s normal crowd you can go any time

Started by 630 from Bangalore driving to thirunallar along Tiruvannamalai . One of the worst stretch is once you cross Chidambaram. One must be very cautious as the road is not emarked properly, I had narrow escape where the road had broken end. After passing through this hardship we reached Karaikal by 2am. We booked our accommodation there which was economical and conformable.. temple is 4 kms from Karaikal. We took rest and started by 830 am to the temple. We were stopped by the police near the parking lot to park our car there mandatory. The parking fees they collect 100 on saturdays and other days I believe it is 30 rupees. Since it is far from temple we took auto from parking lot who charge 20 rupees per head. We reached Nalakulam for holy dip. After getting down we reached the holy pond and took holy dip then left the undergarments in the metal fabricated container there.. fir ladies there are changing cabins along the pond. After holy dip got the dress change and walk towards ganesha 🛕. Before going we purchased coconut at 20 rupees and break it in the dedicated place beside ganesha temple. From there we took auto to reach temple and brought 100 rupees special Darshan ticket. Two of my family members are unable to walk hence we had to take autos and special ticket. After taking ticket we went inside and had Darshan of DarbaAranyeshwara first and moved along the Peaharam to have Darshan of darba sthal , chsndikeshavar and Bhairavar. Do not miss to have Darshan of purana Shanishwara on the corner pillar and Saturn Axis view above that. The difference of Shanishwara here is the hastha which is in blessing mudra whis is unique of its own. After that we moved along the Q to have Darshan of Main Vigraha of Shanishwara and Amma Parvathi. After that we exit the temple and purchased black till @5 rupees perpiece. This should be then taken to the next counter Where they dip it in the oil which should be offered in the metal vessel of fire 🔥. After this exit the temple and just walk up to your car without turning back. The complete process of Darshan tool 2 hrs since it was Saturday. Other weekdays are much easier without crowd.

Had great Darshan there with the help of an official there - whom I donot know. Without his help, I could not have had the Darshan of the lord, as it was closing time in the afternoon. I would have missed the temple, as I was planning to return to BLR the next morning and has to visit other temples in the later part of the day. The person did not accept money I offered, in spite of the major help 🙏. I am happy that we still have such people in the world 🙏
