My recent visit to Giriraj Ji Temple in Govardhan was a spiritually uplifting experience. The temple's serene ambiance and the majestic idol of Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhan Hill are awe-inspiring. The temple is located at the very heart of the Govardhan town, and the devotion of the pilgrims adds to the atmosphere. It's a place where Lord Krishna's divine Leela unfolded, and you can feel the presence of history and spirituality. If you're looking for a place to connect with the deep-rooted traditions and legends of Lord Krishna, Giriraj Ji Temple is a must-visit. I was deeply moved by the experience and would highly recommend it.

Its a popular temple, located approx 20-25 Kms from Vrindavan, dedicated to Giriraj Ji, a natural form of Lord Krishna, who lifted the Hill on his finger, to save lives of the Brijwasi's. It's built at the center point of this hill & devotees walk around this hill for 21 Kms, called Parikrama, generally taking 5 hrs, usually barefooted. This faith of devotees is worth a praise. The symbolic small piece of mountain, approx 3 x 5 feet, is worshiped here. Sadly, cleanliness is a concern. the offering of milk, spilled all over, raises a stink as one gets inside. It is usually crowded, take care of belongings. This is not a tourist attraction but just meant for the devotees of Lord Krishna.

Govardhan Hill, also known as the Giri Raj, is located 22 kilometres from Vrindavan. According to Lord Krishna, Govardhan Parvat (hill) is not distinct from him, as mentioned in the Holy Bhagavad Gita. As a result, all of his worshippers worship the clean rocks of the hill in the same way they adore his idol. The hill is built of sandstone and rises 80 feet tall with a perimeter of 38 kilometres.

Hindu Temple which allows a soft approach to the fascinating facets of this philosophy. Worth the stop, even if it is on the opposite side with respect to the direction of travel (so the Indians drivers know a lot !!)

Total these Parikramas comprise of 21 Kms. It takes about 5 - 7 hours by foot to complete this Parikrama. Both these Parikramas can be completed in a single day or separately on two occasions but have to be finished in Pair i.e. if finished Govardhan Parikrma then has to finish Radha Kund also
