Good place to visit but remains are there. Lots of monkeys are also there. Try to come in the evening. Half an hour is enough. We could not find the entrance. It is located in front of Yamuna river and very near to Bishram ghat. Not much crowd. This place needs government attention.

On the banks of river Yamuna, this fort is built over a large area and has highly fortified walls.
Now there is ruins only. The structure reflects a beautiful Hindu architectural styles and destruction caused by Mughals.
This is because the fort passed through several hands during its journey. It is said that Raja Man Singh of Amber renovated the fort in the 16th century while Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh of Jaipur built an observatory there. However, there is no sign of the observatory now.

This place is situated near Yamuna ji in Mathura.
This place is related to Dwapar era.
Now this place is desolate and dilapidated.
Kansa Fort is situated at a height of 900 meters from Dwarkadhish Temple. A very beautiful view of Yamuna river is visible from the fort of Kansa.

Kans Quila, also known as the Kans Fort, in Mathura is a historical site that has a rich and fascinating history.

This fort is closely associated with the legendary tale of Lord Krishna, who was born in Mathura and later faced numerous trials and tribulations, including those instigated by his maternal uncle, Kans. Kans, a tyrant king, is a central figure in Hindu mythology, and his stronghold, the Kans Quila, is a key part of this narrative.

The fort is believed to be the place where Lord Krishna's parents, Vasudeva and Devaki, were imprisoned by Kans. It was from here that Lord Krishna was miraculously born and later embarked on his divine mission to bring about righteousness and defeat evil.

Today, the Kans Quila is a significant pilgrimage site for devotees of Lord Krishna. It serves as a reminder of the profound impact of this divine story on Mathura's history and culture. The fort's historical and religious significance makes it a must-visit destination for those interested in the rich heritage of Mathura and the legends of Lord Krishna.

Nice and clean, locals and tourists don't get along very well. If you visit a new place try to live like a local. Else stay at home.

I found my self very sad after visiting this place. The reason is that, this is the place of our thousands of years old history,,,, from the times of lord krishna but there is nothing to see. There is an encroachment all around ,very less part of this fort is visible ,only ruins are there. The govt should take care.
