The deity of this place is believed to give the knowledge. Nowadays it’s more crowded in all temples. Please follow the line to take the blessings of lord. Buy flowers before entering the temple.

Don’t buy bottled drinks instead drink tender coconut 🌴 and help local farmers.

Happy spiritual journey

One of the most motivating experiences I had while attending Central University of Tamilnadu in Thiruvarur was visiting Arulmigu Saraswathi Temple. The temple, which honors the Hindu goddess Saraswathi, serves as both a reminder of Tamil Nadu's rich cultural past and an inspiration for young people like myself.

I was immediately impressed by the temple's stunning architecture and peaceful atmosphere as soon as I stepped inside. The luxuriant vegetation that surrounds the temple creates a tranquil environment that is ideal for thought and meditation. The temple's complex carvings and exquisite paintings show evidence of the craftsmanship and imagination of the prehistoric builders.

Yet the temple's commitment to research and understanding was what really moved me. Saraswathi, the goddess of learning, stands for the quest for knowledge and the value of education in our lives. The numerous educational programs and activities that the temple sponsored, including a library and study center that were accessible to students like myself, served to spread this message.

I now have a different understanding of the value of education and the significance of embracing our cultural history as a result of my visit to the Arulmigu Saraswathi Temple in Koothanur. That motivated me to pursue academic achievement and seek out information and wisdom everywhere I could. I am appreciative of this opportunity and would heartily endorse it to anybody searching for motivation and inspiration in their own academic endeavors.

My Second time here. After 2004. Maa Saraswati in her Glorious best. A must visit for anyone who is studying or anyone in family is studying. Temple is well maintained and the Purohit was extremely friendly. About a hour drive from Kumbakonam, please make it a part of your circuit and thank me later

Very good temple. Very few temples in India have Saraswathi as main deity. This is one of them.

Situated inside the village but well maintained.

The Saraswathi Amman temple at Koothanur is a serene place with a lot of positive energy. The place was not crowded and we were able to view the morning Abhishekam to the diety that takes place at 9.15 AM daily.
We were unsure of the accomodations & therefore stayed at Myladuthurai around 25 Kms from Koothanur.
Do note that there are no food outlets close to the temple.

It is the only Saraswati temple in Tamilnadu. Raja Raja Chozhan gifted this place to poet Ottakoothar That is why this place is called Koothanoor.

Nice temple exclusively for Goddess Saraswathi. People from all walks of life come with children and pray here with education note books, pencil, pen etc for better education. Puranas say Goddess Saraswathi is still studying and it encourages us to study and learn in whatever field we are. Neatly maintained temple.

Very quiet place. One hour drive from kumbakonam by car. Winding roads and green farm lands with kauvery river flowing on the road side. They do abishekam at 9 10 am. Can see lots of parents with kids wishing for their success in exams

This temple is newly renovated and redesigned in 2018. It's actually old temple. Main daiete's name is Saraswati. Saraswati swami offers us her blessings. Mainly students and those who want to improve their educational skills should definitely come and worship here. One can observe lots of stationery shops in front of the temple. Devotees can buy their required stationery (pens, pencils, sketches, notebooks, colouring books, etc) and give to priest inside who will do Pooja for Swami and return back the stationery items which are considered to be blessed. Use them for upcoming exams and interviews. This temple is only accessible by local autorickshaw or taxi.
