Gudiyam Caves Trekking Starting Point

Enjoyed trekking. 2 hours journey from Chennai by bike or car. 1-2 hours trekking to reach mannachi Amman temple point and first cave. It was so thrill and fresh too. Right to to start trekking is early morning 6-7 am. Avoid sunlight while walking. Wear full hand tshirt or overcoats to safeguard your hands from thorn trees and plants.

Beware of 🐍 snakes, 🍯 honey bees. They don't hurt you untill you disturb them.

Historical place, stoneage, pre-historical site. Local villagers use to celebrate festival every year January first date.

Don't forget to Take water bottle and little 🥨 snacks. It's important than snacks that so not litter plastic bottle and covers inside hills or forest. Use dustbin at villages or near poondi reservoir.

Must destination for Travel vlogger and history lovers. There is a musium and lake at poondi to visit while returning.

A good weekend destination for 5 hours trek for to and fro distance and also agreat view of caves from inside

Nice place to visit..... good unexplored caves .... soon coming for public visit

There was no proper sign of trekking starting point. No parking spot. We had to ask the local people to find the way.

The way is gated and restricted by forest department. Not allowed without Force Department's prior permission
