Thakurani Ghat, Gokul

I first visited Gokul when I was 11 years old. I still have vivid memories of that old Gokul. Thakurani ghat is where our religion began. It was my favourite place then and now too. So much changed in 15 years, they now have handles, protection rods, roof above the ghat, and the river stream is far away from the Ghat after the rains. This place gives you calm and calm and calmness. But the place is not maintained, it's dirty and full of trash, it's heartbreaking to see such a beautiful and sacred place taken for granted. My heart will forever be here. I hope action is taken to maintain the place.

Thakurani ghat is place where Yamunashtak sung by Mahaprabhuji. But in last few years this ghat is Very polluted by local industries. Apeal to local, state and central governments to start Yamuna River Cleaning Mission as Yamuna Ji is very holy river for all vaishnavs. And STOP waste water entry from local industries as soon as possible. All vaishnavs please support this mission by liking this comment and make comments, so government take necessary actions.

So beautiful place to find peace. So please visit here once and feel it. Yamuna maharani, gokul dham, gokul bairaj it's all here.

Close your eyes and you'll definitely feel like someone is playing flute from far and still you can hear that pleasent sound ❣❣

Strict religious place not for local tourist.
Locals destroying it's divineness , by polluting with electric boats .
Too many boats polluting the ghat and river Yamuna .

Thakurani Ghat is one of the most famous ghat on bank of holy river Yamuna in Gokul along with Brahmand Ghat and Shri Govind Ghat.

Very clean and well maintained ghat. It has a well maintained parking as well. Beware of the monkeys as they will loot just about anything. As per folklore, here you get darshan of face of Yamuna ji.

Serene place. Although beware of people befooling you there. Don't pay any money in any name.
