Very old lake but now it's dry and dirty.

It's a busy place near old railway station . you can see view of the pukhuri from any vihecle running on Tinsukia to Dibrugarh

This is the main point of Tinsukia town , From here you can go anywhere

The Tinkunia Pukhuri is a Historical Landmark of Tinsukia. It is in the shape of a Triangle due to which it is called Tinkunia (Means 3 Sided).

However, now it's being renovated by the local administration and we the citizens of Tinsukia hope to see a better version of the same.

Historical landmark amidst the heart of the town. When entering the town, spotting the Statue makes me feel happy.🙌. However the condition of this landmark is not very standard. There are dirty dustbins along the banks of the pond which are not emptied regularly. All the trees 🌲 alongside the pond have been cut,which is sad. However accepting it as what it is makes me feel quite good. #TinsukianByHeart

i really like the place . statue of a great man in middle of a big pond. and plus good food places nearby , and point to be noted its not a place to sit and relax.. no sitting arrangements available

Historical Landmark of Our Hometown Tinsukia .

This is a place in my hometown and it's great and I have many memories with this place.

A. T. Road bifurcates at Tinikonia Pukhuri into two roads: G. N. B. Road and Station Road. While G. N. B. Road leads to the inner parts of the town, Station Road meets Makum Road, the road leading to Makum, a town 8 km away from Tinsukia. Thus, if one wants to bypass Tinsukia’s central areas while travelling towards Makum, one may take Station Road and directly arrive at Makum Road. Station Road is just like a mini bypass passing through Tinsukia town and is the most congested road in the town. It is said that the origin of the word Tinsukia is the name this triangular pond is known by, i.e. Tinikonia Pukhuri.

The air feels so fresh and lively here. Great place to travel when autumn's around. The people are very jovial and helpful too.

Beautiful locality. Specially "Sattu shake" is the delicious one you will find over there. Reliance Trend in the locality make the place a visiting must place.

A pond of having three corners (tini=three + kunia=having corners). The pond was dig in the reign of the great Mattak King Sarbananda Singha. It is situated at the middle position of Tinsukia town which was known as Bengmora in the past Mattak king's reign. It is behind the national highway 37 and so it is clearly visible when someone passes through Tinsukia town. A huge statue of Sarbananda Singha, the Great Mattak King was placed into the middle position of the pond on the water. The Bengmora State was established and was ruling by the Mattak Hero Sarbananda Singha including present times Dibrugarh and Tinsukia and a portion of Lakhimpur district before the ruling period of the British.

Tinikunia pukhuri is named because of the three roads connected there and a pond is situated in the opposite side.
A beautiful Gurudwara Is situated at the opposite side of road.
Reliance trend is located nearby to it which enlightens the place more.
Place is often crowdy and polluted.

It's a beautiful pukhuri at the heart of Tinsukia Town. Now there is no water, dry. The statue of Sarbananda Singha is located at the middle of pukhuri makes it more lookative.

Historical place but needs maintenance

A statue of Sarbananda Singha is erected at the centre of the pond. The pond has three corners so called Tinkonia pukhuri. The place is of historic importance related to Motok dynasty.

Needs maintenance.. Else the Statue of Swargadeo Sarbananda Singha is a virtue for the Ancient Muttock kingdom of Bengmara, present Tinsukia.
