Pithoragarh is the easternmost district in the state of Uttarakhand. It is located in the Himalayas and has an area of 7,110 km2 (2,750 sq mi) and a population of 483,439 (as of 2011). The city of Pithoragarh, located in Saur Valley, is its headquarters. The district is within the Kumaon division of Uttarakhand state. The Tibet plateau is situated to the north and Nepal is to the east. The Kali River is formed by the joining of two headwaters near Gunji and flows south, forming the eastern border with Nepal.[1] The Hindu pilgrimage route for Mount Kailash-Lake Manasarovar passes through this district via Lipulekh Pass in the greater Himalayas. The district is administratively divided into six tehsils: Munsyari; Dharchula; Didihat; Berinag; Gangolihat; and Pithoragarh. Naini Saini Airport is the nearest civil airport, but it does not have regular scheduled commercial passenger service. The mineral deposits present in the district are magnesium ore, copper ore, limestone and slate. There are 11 tehsil.

Pithoragarh is a Himalayan town with a Municipal Board in Pithoragarh district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is the largest organised semi-urbanised to urbanised town in Kumaon.The town has all the facilities including an airport. It has become an education hub of the hilly region as the town has Laxman Singh Mahar Govt.P.G.College, Seemant Institute of Technology, and a nursing college catering to the needs of all the nearby towns as well.

This stadium is one of the most famous stadiums in Pithoragarh. Recently, Our PM Narendra Modi ji visited Pithoragarh and there was a public meeting in the stadium. Perfect place for many sports like Hockey, Badminton, Football etc.

It is a beautiful place it is sitiuated near dhobi ghat.
It is used for sports activities. It is government organization. Various sports activities are done here by government. It is also used for various sports coaching and most of traner and trainee comes here.
And trainees come here for develop their skills in various sports. In this stadium coaches are very skilled and certified . Most of the trainees of this stadium had played at national level games. In this stadium a basketball ground also visitable. More than 20 sports are played here. Gymnastics, running , table Tanis , football and various types of other games are played here. Here is also a hostel for trainees . Who wants to join hostel some extra charges are applicable. But for skill development stadium play most important role for civilians of pithoragarh. Location of this ground very fantastic.
So in my opinion every sports interested citizen should come here for develop their skills. Every one visitor should come here at least one time to enjoy it's beauty..

Pithoragarh stadium or Jeewan Chandra Upadhyaya District Stadium Pithoragarh is situated near collectorate and it is great place to work out a lot of sports activities are conducted here and children who are interested in sports activities they are being trained by the great trainees in a very less charges.

Well managed stadium is now named after local sports legend Surendra Singh Waldia. Stadium is comprised of legendary boxer Hari Singh Thapa sports college for boxing and couple of other games. World class boxers and shuttlers are trained here by experienced coaches. A nice place for sports persons in Pithoragarh.
