Govardhan Parvat is a Nagar Panchayat in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district. Govardhan and its surrounding area is also called 'Braj Bhoomi'. It is the Leelasthali of Lord Shri Krishna. It is here that Lord Shri Krishna raised the Govardhan mountain on his junior finger to save the people of Braj from the wrath of Indra in the Dwapar Yuga. Govardhan Parvat is also known as 'Giriraj' by the devotees.
For centuries, devotees from far and wide have been coming here to circumambulate Giriraj ji. This 7 kos circumambulation is about 21 kms. The major places falling on the way are Ayanur, Govind Kund, Poonchhari ka Lotha, Jatipura Radhakund, Kusum Sarovar, Mansi Ganga, Dana Ghati etc.
From where the parikrama begins, there is also a famous temple called Danghati Temple.
