Very peaceful place that reflects the Culture & Heritage carried since more then 400 yrs. The Bor Namghar is well maintained and the villager's are very humble & nice people. I must mention the Cleanliness & Facilities (Drinking Water, Car Parking) maintained are worth mentioning. A must visit to understand the Glory, Pride Preaching.

A very holy place. One of the oldest naamghars of Assam.It is believed that wishes of devotees are fulfilled by offering horais and lighting diyas here with pure heart. Although Bhado mah is auspicious month for visiting naamghars, you can visit it at any time of a year. Everyday kirtan is done here at 10:00 am for two three hours . After kirtan, prasad is offered to all devotees. Bornamghar committee organised everythng in a very systematic manner. There are many shops near naamghar where you can get all things of horai ( but-mogu,fruits, diyas etc.)

Dhekiakhowa Bornaamghar is one of the Oldest and the Best Naamghar in upper ASSAM. If you are from ASSAM and haven’t visited yet, then you should visit and spent a day here. If you are a tourist visiting ASSAM then you should not miss the opportunity to visit the holiest Naamghar of ASSAM. Every day Kirton is performed at 10 AM for two to three hours. All Devotees are given a place to sit in the Naamghar to participate in the Kirtan. After the Kirtan is over, Prasad is offered to all devotees as holy offering.
This Bornaamghar is very neat and clean. I would like to appreciate the good work done by the Naamghar committee. I would request everyone to donate whatever is possible from your end. There are donation box and it’s up to you to donate but donation is not must.
Wish Hall – This is where you can light Agarbatti and Dia and make your prayers and wish.
Tea House – There is a tea house behind the Naamghar, Every visitors are welcomed to have Assam’s famous tea “LAL cha” for free. So that you can refresh yourself after a long distance travel.
Pond – There is a pond behind the Tea house, please take a piece of bread, the tortoise and fishes in the ponds are eagerly waiting for you to offer them foods.
Parking lots – Lots of parking places in and outside the Naamghar compound.

There is an anecdote after the name of Dhekiakhowa Naamghar. Guru Madhavdeva after taking up the duty of reforming people and spreading the Ekasarana Naam Dharma came to stay in this small village. He took shelter for the night at the hut of an old woman, who served him rice with Dhekia Saak (Fiddlehead Fern), a very common wild vegetable. The old woman was very embarrassed to have served the Saint guru like this but he was immensely pleased by the dinner. So he started a naamghar there and given the responsibility of kindling the earthen lamp to the old woman. The naamghar was later known as Dhekiakhowa Naamghar.

A lot of visitors and devotees gather in the naamghar everyday, especially during the sacred month of Bhado (August–September), for this month being the Death Anniversaries of both the gurus Srimanta Sankardeva and Madhavdeva.

Dhekiakhawa Barnamghar is a famous namghar in Jorhat district of Assam. It was established by the great man Madhavdev in 1461, he lit the earthen  lamp at this place, which has been burnt by the religious people for four hundred and a hundred years. Through holy ceremonies, vaishnavism has been helping to invigoreal the people of Assam.
