This is at a walking distance from Kalaram Temple and considered to be the place from where Ravana took Sita. This is close to Panchavati (5 trees). Only one person of medium size can enter the cave at a time, and there is lot of suffocation inside. Heavy crowd during weekends and holidays.

This is one of the main places belonging to ramayana in Nashik.Near Panchvati is the Sita Gufa, said to be the spot from where Sita was kidnapped by Ravana. . This was the place where the Rama built his abode with his brother Laxman and wife Sita when he was sent to an exile of 14 years. The caves house idols of Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman as well as a Shivling, said to be the one Sita worshipped.

Surreal experience, need to pass through narrow lanes in the caves and it might be difficult for ppl with asthma, obesity and other health issues. Waiting time for darshan mostly 30 minutes.

Nestled near Panchvati in Nashik, Sita Gufa stands as a poignant testament to the events of the Ramayana. Legend has it that this cave marks the very spot where Sita, the wife of Lord Rama, was abducted by the demon king, Ravana. It holds a significant place in the epic, as it was here that Rama, along with his devoted brother Laxman and Sita, constructed their abode during the 14-year exile imposed upon them.

The sacred caves of Sita Gufa enshrine idols depicting Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman, capturing the essence of their time spent in exile. Among these sacred artifacts is a Shivling, believed to be the very one worshipped by Sita herself. The spiritual ambiance of the cave resonates with the profound connection to the Ramayana narrative, making it a revered pilgrimage site for those seeking to immerse themselves in the ancient tales of devotion, love, and resilience. Sita Gufa, with its historical echoes and divine vibrations, invites visitors to step into the footsteps of Rama and Sita, experiencing the essence of their profound journey.

Devine place, very crowded. But filled with miracle. Need entire day to visit. Do not trapped in auto Toure guide, they will going to do scam in terms of showing you 12 to 14 palaces to visit but only going to show you 2 or 5 palaces. Sharing lists to visit in panchavati, use public transport. This will going to Save your money.

The PANCH VATI gets its name from 5 Banyan Trees.
Seetha Gufa is a small cave.
Entrance to it is small,
If you are claustrophobic , take a deep breath and then go in.
The actual temple is very small room in the cave.

Very fond of ancient places. But nothing could be as ancient as places like Sita gufa. This is one of the biggest landmarks of Indian society. It brings you back to those times when Lord Sita visited this place during her struggling days.

But there is one thing as a feedback. They have displayed our Indian map during that times. But they have added Pakistan in our territory then. In those times, it was India. So I raised this question with the sevak there, he told this is for new generation to connect. Well, new generation should learn history better than us..

Its an ancient gufa where Goddess Sita used to stay. Its a good experience, the entry of Gufa seems small and we might feel we will not fit in but even a fat person can go through that entry its like small sections. You also get autos here who help you visit the other important places which is must visit to nashik these places are nearby.
Photography is not allowed here, you have queue sometimes on the way

Sita Gumpha is believed to be the place where Sita worshipped Lord Shiva during their exile. The cave, containing the idols of Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshmana, can be accessible only through the help of a narrow staircase. The ancient Shivlinga still exists in the cave and is visited by large number of devotees every day. Devotees believed to be the place where Ravana, the demon king of Lanka, abducted Sita.

The place is very beautiful, it is said that Mata Sita used to stay in this particular gufa when Ramji and Laxam ji used to go out to gather food.
The gufa is small but you can easily go down and come up just by bending and sitting on the stairs.
They send you inside in a batch by forming a line.
Also it is said that if you have a manat, you stick a coin in the cervix of the temple and if it sticks means your mannat will be fulfilled.
