This temple is considered very holy and is very near to Mangalore at a distance of 26kms only. Many devotees come here to receive blessings of Durga Parameshwari who stayed here after slaying Aruna Sura. She came as daughter of Nandini River, the divine cow, who was cursed by sage Jabali to be born as a river.

There is no much crowd during the weekdays as the place is big . The greenary around the temple keeps the place really cool and calm.

Beautiful place of maa Durga, must visit and explore. Awesome food we get till 3pm and must try. Fishes in lake and elephants within the premises. Very serene and peaceful

The vibes you get at this temple is beyond my ability to describe. The incense fumes near God's idol, and just the whole natural light & setting..made me feel blessed. You also get a good view of nature from there. There's also an office where they sell sarees draped on the Goddess at a reasonable price.

Sri Durga parameshwari temple kateel is the very famous temple in Dakshina kannada. Here devi duraparameshwari was very power full god. All over karnatakaand inda people visit this temple and take darshana... And Mangalore jasmine and Hoovina pooje is very special pooja to devi, this temle was surrounded by Nandini Rivers. That was very beautifull to see the temple. And also very famous is here anna prasadam... Dont mis here anna prasadam. Must visit this temple.. 🙏🙏🙏

It's really a very good temple I love the god with trust and took blessings from God after so many years u can spent a time here one-hour u can see the river accross the temple and it's give a good positivite feeling and u can smlie the ghee and must visit it

Wondering temple. It is quite the inner side from BC road, a long journey though 1.5 hour. Lunch is provided which is delicious. Good maintenance of washrooms. Of course there will be a heavy rush during holidays/weekends. If you want to enjoy the river, monsoon is the right time.

So many people suggested this place when I visited manipal. It was truly spiritual and tranquil.when it's rush they will be special darshan tickets if there is no rush you can just complete darshan in 5 mins

Such a Divine and peaceful place. I had been on a public holiday and to much of my surprise there was not much of a crowd. Had a blessed darshan.

Sacred and devoted place. It's located just beside the highway and has plenty of parking facilities just opposite to the temple gate. Darshan won't take much long so no need to buy sheeghra darshan ticket which costs rs.100. have a river inside the temple but one should visit during rainy season to get the awesome view. Unlucky us as we visited in summer there was no single drop of mulki river. Anna Prasad is also available from 11 am to 5pm as the provide rice, sambar, pickle, curry and sweet. There's also an elephant named mahalaxmi you can take blessing of her too.
