Started in 1962 this is a great institution which prepares and grooms the boys and now girls for becoming commissioned officers of Indian Army, IAF, Indian Navy after successfully passing National Defence Academy (NDA) exam . Students from rural and needy backgrounds can develop officer like qualities from Class VI to class XII. Most notable alumni Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha was the student of this institution. Students get up in working days at 5.30 go for PT then school from 7.30 to 1.30 PM In the evening games after which evening prep class ensues. After dinner at dining hall students go to bed around 10.30pm. One of the best residential public school in Eastern India under Ministry of Defence.

I was complete my study from here. this school make me a brave honest and a good man. i was a dream to contribute me for the nation and this sanik school make me this kind of person.

I missing very much my school my sainik school day.

Best days of my life, even today (after 18 years) I sometimes dream that I am in school.

Though I was one of the (most) naughty ones and a poor student also, but the manners and discipline I learnt is indispensable, in my opinion. And also other things that I learnt (like sense of responsibility, dedication, leadership qualities, how to get respect without demanding it, when to be strict and when to be lenient with juniors and sub-ordinates etc) from the talks and advice of the Defence and NCC personnel, who are either part of SSP (the way we used to call the school, lovingly) or visits the school as a guest, is helping me a lot today in my job.
Though the main aim of the Sainik Schools is to select and groom people for Indian Defence but most, that is taught there, is very much applicable to any other field of work also.

My best of wishes to all the students of SSP and deepest respect for all the teachers , officers and staffs.
