The Alpinist Cafe & Retreat

The cafe has heartwarming views, perfect for your morning cup of coffee. The food is amazing too, especially their pasta and noodles. And the best part of the Alpinist, no doubt are the dogs: Everest, Akira, Goku and Kalu. Loved playing with them. The hosts are very welcoming and guide you perfectly as per your needs. Would totally recommend for anyone staying in Kaza.

I stayed here for 2 nights and it was a delight! The hotel has best views of the kaza mountains, the rooms are excellent with wooden finish, quality stuff and amenities.
The owner siddhu bhai is a gentleman and a great person to converse with! The food is also excellent and has all varieties of cuisines!
Cherry on the cake- they have 2 adorable and friendly huskies!

This place is a gem in this area. Easily accessible to the main market, equally close to the mountains. Lovely ambience, warm staff, excellent food, amazing host! The host has a vivid experience of the mountains and can help you with details abt the trip. He has managed to strike a right balance between the local life with best of amenities required for a comfortable stay... I am definitely coming back here!!! Best wishes to The Alpinist!

Very vast food variety.
Food was good, in room dining experience was good.

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing ,nice view from the balcony.The owner jaspreet singh sidhu was very helpful and coordinating. I highly recommend this place. I’ll love to come here again next time

Excellent rooms..excellent service..food was great.. also the owner is a really good man and knows how important it is to give good service to his customers!! He was always up for a chat!! Will really recommend this place to stay for a minimum of 3 nights… and the view from our balcony was out of this world!! Location is just 2 mins walk from the main market so we could anytime go to market without having to worry for transport!!

A beautiful and cozy property for any traveller who is visiting Kaza.
Equipped with all the modern amenities one can totally relax and refresh himself up after the days dusty rides.
Very cozy and comfy rooms, food is I would say ok ok.
Staff is good and well behaved.
Parking is available along with outside space to sit and one can also enjoy bonfire which is of course on chargeable basis.
A little expensive but that is understood because at a place like Kaza one can barely find woods so making the thing available to you , one has to pay for it.

They also have a nice little restaurant where one can watch TV, can read books, play small games too.

A good property to stay overall.

While we didn’t stay at the hotel we did eat at the restaurant two of the three total nights we were in Kaza. The attached restaurant has a really cool vibe and serves really good food. The servers and the owner are very hospitable people and we really enjoyed spending time eating and relaxing here. I almost never leave out reviews on Google but since I really enjoyed the food and the hospitality I just had to make sure it wrote it here.

Great views, great food and great hospitality. If you find yourself in Kaza, you MUST visit.

Visited kaza and stayed in The Alpinist for 3 nights with family... It was amazing stay... Clean and beautiful rooms, hygienic and tasty food...
And owner of the property Mr Sidhu is such a nice and helpful man... Highly recommended for stay in kaza

One of the best places we stayed during our entire Spiti trip. Rooms were excellent and cosy and had the perfect luxury needed for a family. Food in the cafe was awesome. Jaspreet was brilliant as a host and very helpful and prompt. Would highly recommend this place for those who wish to stay in Kaza.

Location is excellent. Staffs are cooperative . Room Service is good. Homely atmosphere and good for family and couple. Great experience every time i have been here. specially their staff service is just awesome. overall its a pleasant stay.

Bathroom was clean gave me a homely feel.
Mr. Jaspreet is very nice guy who took care of us as like his own family.. if you want to have a comfortable stay on KAZA which is in very high altitude I'll recommend the Alpininst...
only one thing was missing in the room is a cupboard where clothes can be hanged..

Reception was awesome. Staff was extreme polite, responsive, forthcoming. The owner Mr Jaspreet is an excellent person who makes you feel at home away from home. The Husky dog, Akira is a treat to watch and takes away your tiredness with her gimmicks.
The food is excellent and there is a lot of variety.
The last but not the least i had the captive audience for my kareoke do.
The location is good close to the market but still at a safe distance from the town hub bub. The mountain and Spiti river view is excellent and serenic. One can walk up to the river bed.

Its a lively and colourful property in kaza. The food is too good. The host Siddhu had made sure we had a comfortable stay. The rooms were cozy and warm. There's kid friendly games and meals. Overall my experience was awesome at this place. Would love to stay again.

From the moment we set foot in the hotel we felt a sense of welcome guests who were happy to have arrived. The rooms, the charming dining room, the varied and delicious food and especially the extraordinary sense of service that accompanied us during our stay at the hotel made our stay at the hotel no less than amazing

The stay was very comfortable with a fantastic room decor. The view from the rooms is exquisite and memorable. I believe this is one of the hotel which has the best view from its balconies. I took lot of photos from our room, i wish i could upload them. Above all the owner of this hotel is very polite and has an indepth knowledge of surroundings. totally loved this place.

Shortage of voltage in all hotels..
If u are breathless & you need to take nebulizer then forget it..
Always carry portable oxygen with you & stay hydrated it's only key to survive in spiti valley..

Fantastically located on backdrop of the snow capped mountains. Rooms are neat and well maintained. Food is top notch and very professional service
