Full day parking at Chandigarh Railway station parking is only Rs 35. Yes, only Rs 35/-. This is the rate as on 18th March 2024. But many people are unaware of how to get this benefit. So here are the steps you need to take:

1. When you enter the station area, you will find three kiosks giving time slips to the drivers. Two kiosks are for pickup and drop and one kiosk (on the right hand side) is for parking.

2. Use the parking side kiosk and tell the attendant that you want to park the car. He will give you a parking slip with time and date.

3. Use the lane on the extreme left to go near the computerised reservation center. If need be, take your time to drop passengers near the platform entry. The parking lot is just before the reservation center. There is sign indicting the entry point.

4. Park your car in the parking lot. Take your time to visit the station or even take an outbound train.

5. On your return, get out of the gate behind the reservation center. The parking attendant will inform you which lane to use.

6. While coming out, an attendant will examine your time slip and ask for money - Rs 35 for the first 24 hours and Rs 40 for the next 24. Unbelievably low fees.

7. As a precaution, arrive at least 40 minutes before the departure of popular trains like Shatabdi to make sure that the parking lot is not full.

A new parking lot is under construction right now (March 2024) and when completed, the problem of limited space will hopefully be resolved.

Very poor parking facility as even you are driving from pick and drop location its takes minimum 10 minutes to reach at the exit of parking due to slow moving traffic there must be a fastag facility to move vehicle fast.and also parking charges for half an hour should be less, as even middle class people are not comfortable to pay 50 rupees for just 10 min. Also if they don't have such type of facilities then parking charges system should be shut down by Chandigarh Govt..

Fraud alert. First 6 min of parking is free however parking attendants would tell u some make numbers and ask for fee even if u stayed for 2 mins. U argue with them, they will rush u to move out. Ask for receipts, they will give u any fake ones. Sad to see these majority poorvanchli staff members looting the ones who gave them food, shelter and decent life. Pathetic. Be aware and be vigilant

Govt should look into it. 200 rs for 20 mins.
