Traveling with Ecosphere on their “Life As A Local” program was an incredible experience for me. Ishita and her team curated a beautiful immersive program for each day inclusive of - spending time with the amazing nuns, experiencing traditional homestays and local festivals, sessions with the last surviving potter in the valley and much much more. Ecosphere ensured that the travel itinerary is just not composed of checkmarks but also about absorbing the culture and vistas of the magnificent valley! One comes back with a memorable experience having etched the remarkably beautiful valley and the people in the heart forever :)

Travelled with Spiti Ecosphere in June 2023 across the stunning Spiti Valley. It was a very well curated trip, and I had a great time. The Ecosphere team was incredibly helpful, sweet and fun. Getting to experience Spiti in the winter as part of Ecosphere's Winterscapes tour was such a unique experience. Getting to see the clear, starry skies, the cool kids practicing ice hockey and learning to make momos with our homestay family were the highlights of the journey. Learning about the difficulties that winter brings gave me a new perspective and the uncertainty of snow was eye opening to the effects of climate change.

The tour itinerary was well organized, accomodations and food was great. The homestay hosts were also wonderful people and made us feel right at home. I highly recommend being part of Ecosphere's initiatives in any way, as the care they take to practice responsible tourism and give back to the community is commendable.

Our stay at Spiti was at Ozel rooms at Kaza. The rooms were comfortable and the view was breathtaking. The local food prepared by them was yummy. The staff was courteous. Rooftop lounge can be designed for future.

I was planning to visit Spiti for the last 5 years but things were not working out. Last year my friend suggested me about Spiti ecosphere and I found it really interesting with what they had to offer .
It was going to be my first solo trip and I was super happy that I finally was visiting Spiti .

Through Ecosphere i got a chance to interact with the locals . The homestay families made me feel so welcomed and the food they prepared was amazing .
You won't miss home if you are with them .

Even the guide and the driver they were very helpful .

I got to meet some really interesting people and not to forget the snow leopard was the trip highlight .

This Spiti trip will always be very special.

An inspiring tour of the staggeringly beautiful Spiti Valley. We never felt rushed, our driver and guide were both amazing and so patient and we learnt so much from them. All our accommodation and food was top quality. Somehow they have devised a route where you see the true Spiti Valley away from all the other tour buses and you learn how these incredibly resilient people still lead their traditional lifestyles.
We felt so lucky to be travelling with Spiti Ecosphere as they put so much back into the region. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

It was a great experience with Spitiecosphere. They took care of all our comfort. The best part of the trip was being able to explore the local life which is why I had booked with them. It was a wonderful experience.

Everything was perfect... transportation, food, accommodation and people. Especially the people. So welcoming, so nice.. no complaints. The itinerary is very well planned. It's not rushed. Everything was done at a comfortable pace, how a vacation should be.

Homestays were amazing. Accommodation at Rampur could be improved.
Else everything was good.

I had the most wonderful trip of my life to Spiti with Ecosphere. Needless to say that Spiti is breathtakingly beautiful!! But the accomodation arranged by ecosphere were equal good.. the location and the view from each and every property was amazing , the people were warm and hospitable and the guide was also knows the place very well. I had nice memories which I cherish even after one month of trip now.. and the group of people which went with me made my trip more memorable.

If I had to capture the trip in one word - it was UNREAL!

Would like to start with all the information and detailing shared by Ishita regarding the trip. It was meticulous and everything documented was so well thought through.

While the journey started from Chandigarh, our friend Gatuk ji joined us from Shimla. His familiarity with the region, terrain, people and his super friendly and accommodating attitude is what made our journey so fun. He understood our enthusiasm and stopped at all the right places for food, gorgeous views and of course the loo breaks :)

Both the homestays at Kaza and Chicham were so warm and homely all thanks to the hosts - Padma ji (in Kaza) and Thakpa ji and Padma ji (at Chicham). We instantly felt at home. The arrangement in such a remote location was super comfortable, food was mind blowing and the overall ways of living made us feel so humble. Would definitely recommend trying the local cuisines! As they say, people make the place and they really left a mark on all of us. The locals and kids were very hospitable and always smiling.

The most memorable part of the trip was spotting the grey ghost - the snow leopard in all her beauty for a good 3 hours on a snowy, stormy, foggy day - BIG THANKS to Thakpa ji and Tashi ji. Their experience, speed and encouragement was unparalleled and we owe it to them for bringing us to the right place at the right time! We also saw a herd of blue sheep, ibex and a few high altitude birds which added to our experience of the Himalayan wildlife.

Last but not the least, I feel lucky to be a part of a wonderful group who started off as strangers but now are friends :) without them, the trip wouldn't be half as fun and exciting!

Tip for the travelers - Do READ the document. Every small thing/tips/precautions/do's and don'ts mentioned are extremely helpful.

Spiti tour with Ecosphere was excellent experience. Spiti Valley was not explored by many all these years, but now more & more people are attached towards Spiti. Our tour was organized very well so that we could enjoy the beauty, local food & watch the local people’s life closely. Though because of some unexpected developments we couldn’t experience, Pottery or Yak ride & also Tent stay at Chandratal, overall we enjoyed a lot.
As there were limited people in our group we all became like a family.
Our guide Sonam had thorough knowledge of the area.
Last but not the least, our Bus driver, Sunil Thakur (Thakurji as we used to call him) has unbelievable driving skill. In two incidents when all of us were so scared, he was absolutely cool & skillfully took us out of difficult situation.

I travelled with Spiti Ecosphere through Kinnaur and Spiti in June 2023. It was one of the best trips of my life. The tour was perfectly curated and included a lot of fun activities. I got to meet a great bunch of people who were like minded and fun to travel with. We also got a chance to interact and live with the locals of Spiti which was one of the best things about the trip. The team at Ecosphere is very helpful and always available to answer queries. I would definitely recommend travelling with Spiti Ecosphere.

It's a wonderful social enterprise, working towards the betterment and overall well being of the Spiti society and it's people, for the last more than 16 years.

They are driving different initiatives in different domains like healthcare camps, water preservation, plastic reduction, girl education, handicrafts promotion, augmenting villagers income via tourism through homestay, prolonged agriculture through building of greenhouses in the villages, solar passive rooms, solar water pumps etc.

They also run Sol Cafe, Taste of Spiti restaurant and Osel Rooms, through which they are able to fund their different initiatives.

No one knows Spiti like the people of Spiti Ecosphere do. Their in-depth knowledge allows them to create a memorable experience for anyone traveling through this region. I highly recommend them for anyone planning a well-organized Spiti trip. Usually, when I travel solo, I have to take care of many things, which sometimes hinders my ability to fully enjoy the experience. However, with Spiti Ecosphere, everything was taken care of - from food and accommodation to required tickets. I didn't have to worry at all. I also made wonderful friends among the people I met during the journey, and they are unforgettable. The local guide was kind and patient, answering every question related to Buddhism and the monasteries. The additional sessions, such as Yatch rope making and the ancient Buddhist way of healing called Amchi, were two of my favorite experiences. The journey was simply breathtaking, with each day and moment revealing more beauty. Just when we thought one experience couldn't get any better, the next place we went proved us wrong. The whole trip left us in wonderment, and my interest in Buddhist philosophies grew. None of this would have been possible without the super organized arrangements by Spiti Ecosphere. You will truly miss out if you don't plan a trip to Spiti soon, especially with Spiti Ecosphere.

Spiti had been on my mind for a while but I didn't have the confidence to plan this trip with my family considering difficult terrain with limited medical facilities. Luckily, I came across spiti ecosphere, browsed their website and voila, there it was, the answer to all my queries.

From sending enquiries on mail, to talking on phone, the response of ecosphere team was awesome. Mr Deepak was very helpful. I was travelling with my parents(over 60 years) and my daughter(10 years) and wanted safe and memorable travels, and spiti team promised that everything will be taken care of.

The driver, Mr Vishal arrived in his Innova to pick us up at Chandigarh and he was with us through thick and thin for the entire trip duration of 10 days. His driving skills are too good to be true. The last leg of the trip from Kaza to chandratal, and from chandratal to manali was like driving on a riverbed with absolutely treacherous terrain with so many unknowns. He kept his cool and safely navigated the entire route. No vehicle breakdown or time delays in the entire trip. His recommendations for local food enroute were also good.

Mr Norbu was the coordinator at Kaza and we contacted him for recommendations for food, sightseeing, travel tips almost at every location. He's your go-to guy for literally all spiti doubts. We met him at Kaza and he's really a pleasant personality and lovely to chat with.

Sonam, was our guide. My entire family has a unanimous opinion about him - you can't get a better human being (guide is just an added advantage). very level headed, patient and knowledgeable of the entire area. We had the best time of the trip with him. He's to be rated 7 stars.

The entire trip was just awesome. all locations on the itinerary had something unique to offer. In fact we wanted to stay longer at many of these places.

We met Miss Ishita, their Director at Sol cafe in Spiti and shared our experience over a warm cup of seabuckthorn tea. The entire team of ecosphere is good and they are doing a great job at taking care of the villages and community at spiti.
