A very small and old chapel/ church in Palayamkottai.. near the English church and St.Xaviers church...have been visiting since my childhood. Built by Clarinda many decades back. If you want to feel calm go visit this place. There is a cemetery inside the church including the burial place of Clarinda. A place with Good vibes and a small greenish garden.

You can go here when ever you want to get the BBB blessings form the lord. The place has grown over the years and I personally believe it is the blessings that it had offered to different people which has been returned by the believers in one way or the others. The tomb of Clarinda who is said to be the first Christian converted here in Tirunelveli is also there along with several other tomb which are having a lot of history attached to it.

Calm environment with lots of trees , small 200 year old church open for praying from 6 AM to 9 PM, every Tuesday 2 PM healing service, every month 1 st and special days holy Communion service at 6 AM.

Clarinda, called the ‘Cornerstone of Tirunelveli Diocese’, was a piece of stone cut, chiseled and shaped to fit into a small corner of an infant church she was called to nourish. She was intelligent, smart, wellread, and cultured and her outlook on life was broad and her perception sharp and spiritual. She was well aware of the ground realities of her times – political instability, social injustices, blind beliefs and customs, feuds and fights, petty jealousies and discriminations as well as the deep thirst of a downtrodden section of people for a God who lives, loves and reigns. She worked her way through a middle course between the ideal and reality and managed to realize her dream, though for a short while, about founding a church on earth that treats all alike, irrespective of birth, caste, class, race and gender. That was her greatest achievement in Palayamkottai in the years between 1778 and 1806

Clarinda (c. 1746 – c. 1806) also known sometimes as Clorinda or Rasa was a native Indian MarathaBrahamin, a member of a high standing family in the royal court of Tanjore (Thanjavur), South India, in the 18th Century. She later became a dedicated ChristianMissionary, moved to Tirunelveli, South India, where she started her missionary work. She was the first Christian convert of Tirunelveli and also built the first Church of Protestant Christian worship, namely, the well known, Clarinda Church, situated near St. John's College, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli.
