This temple is worth going out of your way for to visit in person. As all good temples it’s so much more powerful in person. Great architecture that’s been preserved well in a peaceful setting.

One of the hidden gems!

Amrutesvara Temple near Tarikere in Chikmagaluru district doesn't get much recognition.

The Hoysala architecture leaves you spellbound. Even though the temple is smaller when compared to other Hoysalan temples at Belur, Halebidu, Somanathapura, this temple is equally beautiful.

What makes it better is the free lunch/prasada. Very simple payasa, rice and sambar, served between 12.30pm to 3.00pm for free!

Already a part of Archeological Survey of India (ASI), I expect the Central and State govts to do more to promote this heritage site.

Another temple from hoysala dynasty and it has lord Amrutheshwar as main god.

The temple is exquisite just like any other hoysala times temple, the architecture is marvelous.

This temple is not damaged much compared to Belur or halebidu.

It is small in size but the sculptures on the main Mantap is unique and beautiful 😍

Temple is protected under unesco world heritage sites & due to this the entire temple premises is clean, neat and we'll maintained.

I would definitely recommend this temple.

Temple is very nice where you have place to sit and spend time with family. Temple is very old and there is a Deepa (lamp) which is burning from last 200 years. Which is nice to see that. Also it’s government owned entries. I used to see go to this temple since childhood since it is closes to my home.

Indian culture and heritage is the best in the world. This temple is another example of the same. Almost 1000 years old. Architecture is splendid and breath taking. Lord Shiva sits peacefully and spreads his energy all around. Unique about this temple is the sharada Devi temple and not parvathi temple. Sharada Devi is believed to give good education to all.

Unlike other temples, the priest are very good, they were not money hungry or greedy priest. We were unable to speak kannada, but he explained us to get all offering in a plate kept outside. We decorated it with flowers fruits etc,. He then told to keep aside few things for Parvati temple. He performed Mangala aarti for us and gave us holy water, prasada and flower. The same was repeated by Parvati temple priest. For people coming outside of Karnataka, please get flowers, fruits, blouse piece, Kum Kum and bangles. The architecture is beautiful and a very non commercial place.

A fabulous Hoysala temple , not to be missed . It was not even built by a king, but by an army commander / Dandanayaka of Ballala~2 , but still it is lavish in decoration and the art and architecture are of very high order . Since it is not as famous as Belur-Halebid-Somnathpur , there are no tourist crowds, only a few real worshippers . So the vast compound , full of greenery all around , is very peaceful and serene . And no litter anywhere , thankfully. Those interested in ancient art and architechture can spend hours here , admiring the thousands of little details . This temple is where the famous Sculptor , Mallitama , started his sculpting career .
Close to Arsikere , in Tarikere Taluk .

It was built during the hoysala reign in 12th century AD under the commandership of Veera Ballaladeva. Has the hoysala architecture along lathed ringed pillars, ekashila idols and the carvings on the walls tell the story of mahabharatha, life of krishna.
