Kipling Cafe

Nestled in an offshoot of the ECR, this beautiful open air restaurant is set beautifully as a blend with nature. The seating is beautiful with private seating arrangements surrounded by trees. The staff are very friendly and are interested to ensure that you are served well and leave with a smile. The food demonstrates how much care has gone into making it. We had the curried mushroom starter along with a bisque, both of which were unique and having nothing to fault. The main course of vegetable filo pastry and the deserts, namely, a creme brulee and panacotta didn't disappoint either. Very memorable overall. Thanks to Mr. Bikram for taking care of us during our visit.

It’s a perfect date spot. They have a candlelight setup and it’s really amazing. The lighting and the ambiance is perfect 🤩 Coming to the food, we had their chicken lasagna, drunken noodles and guava punch. Honestly, loved everything ♥ The best lasagna I ever had. Their service was also good and it was kinda a peaceful spot in a crowded area.

Visited there for a NY buffet and party, I would say it was very well organised, food was delicious at a decent price. Excelled at service and taste. Vibe rich ambience surrounded by nature and beaches.

We ordered mozzarella sticks which was just cheese sticks, not mozzarella for sure.
Farmers pizza was excellent with a lot of olives and cheese!

The waiters do seem to be overwhelmed on weekends, will recommend to get reservations way ahead.

The place has an amazing vibe . It's a perfect place to hangout with friends and family . The menu also offers a lot of variety . I recommend visiting the place more towards late evening time .

The laid back ambiance along with the food felt like a a warm goan experience. All the dishes were wonderful and the Thai squid is a must try. The pizzas were defiantly better than most of the nearby joints as was the tiramasu .all in all a great weekend outing .

This is one of the must go place in Chennai. Located in the ECR side. Very nearby to the ECR beach but this cafe does not have the beach access. Overall ambience and food are great. Service is also prompt. Surely visit again.

Food was great. We had both vegetarian and non vegetarian. We had fish, mutton and chicken in non vegetarian and we had mushroom, crispy veg and risotto in vegetarian. Service of the staffs there were on time. A special mention to Mr. Bikram who served us. He was patient and polite. Special mention to his photography skills. Must visit. Highly recommended.

We went here for my wife's first birthday after marriage... Food and ambiance were great... Quantity of food is reasonable for price. Not so little as 5 star restaurants. They give 2 types of pre-booked decoration and food package.
You can also take the decoration only and order food separately, if you feel the package gives more... Warning ⚠ Some people may not like Thai food, be sure with what you order... Update: Went again for dinner, roof top was decent. But there was nothing like view since it was 9pm.

Beautiful quiet ambience for evening dates with your partners. Also a good hangout spot for friends. Good service, great food but definitely expensive on your pocket. Expect to spend atleast 1000 per person for a nice meal. Portion sizes are decent. Otherwise car parking space might get a bit tricky, restrooms are good. They could have also reserved some space indoors for those seeking to have a nice lunch. Otherwise it gets warm and sweaty during summers.

As we had dinner there, we escaped the heat of the noon, but had very poor lighting. You gotta reserve and book earlier for the best seats. Perfect ambience for date nights and celebrations. They do the decorations too.
The food was alright, but the service was poor. Several times they had misplaced the orders. I had requested just another candle but never got one. I even received a small slice of lemon only after asking multiple times for it, and by then I had finished half of my food. My favourite was the tom yum soup. Other than that I wasn't satisfied with the food. Panko Fried Fish is just fish n chips but without flavour.
They have great choices for alcohol.

Also, they have a proper parking space.

The ambience was really good. The taste was of the food was yummy. The service was exceptional. Mr Bikram was was really good and servicing us politely. Also they offer cakes for any birthday celebration

3rd time to this place already. Nice ambience and staffs. Location is greener and full of trees, plants and huts. Peaceful location to hangout with friends and family..

This place is a whole vibe. Usually a very famous place for couples to go on dinner dates, came here for a family dinner which also turned out to be pretty amazing. Such an esthetic interior it had, a couple of other cafes were there inside one of which is shut down temporarily. Everything we ordered was amazing and a special mention to what was probably the best margherita pizza I've had in ages. The lighting was minimal but on point. Even though it's near akkarai beach, u don't have a direct view of the beach but still the indoor vibe more than makes up for it. Pretty pricey but I guess it's because of the fact that it's in ECR but it's definitely worth it for the experience that you're getting. The chef was nice enough to come pay us a visit and ask us about the food.

The ambiance in this place is pretty good, which makes the food taste even better.

Our waiter, Vijay did an amazing job and the chef(s) didn't make us wait too long either.

Booked a Birthday Surprise candle light dinner for my Husband. The arrangements were perfect and we had a great time.

Wonderful food and dine in experience. The best kadai paneer ever had. Also Sabji biriyani was light and tasty. Ambience was splendid and nice experience overall. A must try for anyone who like outdoor seating. Mr. Pushkar was courteous and very friendly.

Kipling Cafe offers a superb dining experience with its charming hut-style ambiance and open dining concept, along with delicious food and friendly service. Vikram, our waiter, was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, and the menu had something for everyone. Overall, it was a great dining experience at Kipling Cafe, thanks to Vikram and the team.
