Had been to this Divine place on a Saturday & took good 30 min for the Darshana .

Temple management need to improve the queue system & there's a big scope to maintain cleanliness by public as well as temple trust in the surrounding vicinity.

Thanks and gratitude to my friend Krishna, who chartered my itinerary during my visit to Mantralayam, also highlighted the spiritual richness of the places around.

Located 20 kms from Mantralayam, the Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple in Karnataka is a significant pilgrimage site where Raghavendra Swamy meditated for 12 years before settling in Mantralaya. Legends say that here, Panchamukha Anjaneya, Kolhapur Mahalakshmi, Lord Venkateswara, and Lord Vishnu as Varaha appeared to him. The ancient temple, atop a hillock, houses a self-incarnated idol of Hanuman on a massive rock.

Divine place. Must visit the place. Sit down and read Hanuman Chalisa. You will feel a different energy. Rayaru has blessed humanity to have a darshan.
Place is full of monkeys. They might take fruits or prasadam from you. Just carry some extra to give them.
Lots of shops to get puja items & water or food.
Plenty car parking space is there.

It's a beautiful temple to visit, if someone is going to Mantralaya. It's approx 30 mins drive from Mantralaya. Roads are good to drive, even we get tumtum from Mantralaya. In the temple we get to see Anjaneya statue, which is in top of a small hill. It has 5 avatars, so it has got name as Panchamukhi.
Just backside of the temple we find a Lakshmi temple within the caves.

This is the place where Raghavendrarayaru did tapas for 12 years and attained sakshatkara. As per legend, Lord Venkateshwara, Maha Lakshmi along with panchamukhi Anjaneya appeared to give darshan to Rayaru. Visit the Maha Lakshmi temple behind Panchamuchi. The place is significant and has stories associated with Ramayan. There are rock formations believed to be pushpaka vimana, bad and pillow used by Hanuman.

Panchamukhi Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple is on a hillock, 20 Kilometres away from Mantralayam and takes about 45 minutes. The Anjaneya here is a swayambu inscription on the rocky cave. Panchamukhi means five faces and Lord Sri Anjaneya or Hanuman here has five different faces, i.e., Hanuman, Hayagriva, Narasimha, Garuda and Varaha faces. Hanuman is an ardent devotee of Lord Sri Rama and is the symbol of power, energy, strength and knowledge and an epitome of true devotion and Brahmcharya.

Hidden in Mantralaya lies a cave where Guru Raghavendra meditated for 12 years. See the Panchamukhi Anjaneya he carved there, do a quick pooja (20 mins max!), and explore other nearby shrines. Easy climb, parking available. Don't miss this spiritual gem!

A sacred place devoted to bhagwan Panchamukhi Hanuman ji. The main temple is inside the cave but devotees need to take darshan from the cave entrance. After coming down from the mandir there are another two small mandirs in which the sandals for Hanuman ji is kept. One is new and one is old (used by Hanuman ji). Pujari informed me that today also Hanuman ji walk around the area and put on the kept sandle in the mandir. Every 3 months the sandals are changing, because it is getting pressed due to regular use, like our shoes after regular use. Hanuman ji is present in the mandir and protects the area as per local people and devotees will also feel like some unseen energy inside the mandir.
