Shakkar lake

It’s a basic lake. Has boating facility available with paddling boat, duck boat and group boat. It’s simple and silent here. There is space to seat and watch water, tree and sky under sound of silence.
There are some eateries here to have some food.
Good place if you visit chikhaldhara and want to enjoy some boating.

Shakkar Lake is on the way going towards Gawilgarh fort. The water from this lake is used for water supply office by Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran. There is arrangement of water boats also. The tourist can enjoy the Speed Boat, Pedal Boat, Scooter Boat etc.Now a days The water in the lake is completely dry for renewal works.

Lake on top of Chikhaldara Hill station, in Chikhaldara municipal Corporation area, near Virat Devi Mandir, where a Pleasant View can be enjoyed sitting by it. Boating facility is also available to enjoy the scenery,
Group Boating or Couple or 4x4 pedal boats are also available.

there is an ancient cave temple named Devi Point. The temple is located by the bank of one of the lakes called Shakkar Talav, and the resident deity has no name and is known simply as 'Devi'. An underground cave temple, supposedly formed naturally, has water drizzling from its roof all through the year. Until a few years ago, the temple was completely natural, devoid of any modern paraphernalia like tiles. The tank had sweet water, hence the name Shakkar or Sugar Lake. Now used for boating.

Shakkar lake is 2nd biggest lake in area of Chikhaldara after Kalapani lake..
Boating is available here by paddle boat or automatic boat.

Shakkar lake is a very Good Spot in Chikaldhara where you can go for a picnic with family, friends, and even with school or college trips it has boating facility there and even horse riding on the course and there are some eateries stall and restaurants which serve a quite good Snacks like Maggie, Panipuri, Chat, Chai and etc.... Overall a must visit place.
