Mysore Kote Sri Anjaneya Swami Gudi is a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the monkey god and the devotee of Lord Rama. The temple is located near the northern gate of the Mysore Palace, and is one of the oldest and most popular temples in the city. The temple is believed to have been built by the Wodeyar kings, who ruled over Mysore for several centuries.

The temple has a 40-feet tall pillar called Garuda Gamba, which is illuminated at night. The pillar has a statue of Garuda, the eagle god and the vehicle of Lord Vishnu, on top of it. The main idol of Lord Hanuman is very beautiful and captivating, and is said to have been brought from Belagole, a nearby village. The idol is adorned with flowers, vermilion, and jewels, and is worshipped with devotion by the devotees.

The temple is also known for its miraculous powers, as many people believe that Lord Hanuman can cure diseases and grant wishes. Many devotees tie a thread or a cloth around the pillar or the idol, and pray for their problems to be solved. The temple also has a Muslim following, as some people of the Islamic faith also seek the blessings of Lord Hanuman.

The temple is a must-visit for anyone who wants to experience the spiritual and cultural richness of Mysore. The temple is open from 6 am to 9 pm, and offers various services and rituals for the devotees. The temple also celebrates Hanuman Jayanti, the birthday of Lord Hanuman, with great fervor and joy. The temple is a place of peace, harmony, and faith, and a source of inspiration and strength for the people of Mysore.

This temple has been built close to the northern gate of the palace. It is learned that the statue of Lord Anjaneya was obtained in Belagole. There is a `Garuda gamba ` of 40` height in front of the temple. It is illuminated on the top. The idol is very beautiful. Most of the people of the city visit this temple from dawn to dusk to offer prayer and sevas. Kote Anjaneya Swamy has its share of Muslim devotees too as the divine being is believed to cure diseases by tying the thaitha. On Amavasya a special pooja is performed and the thaithas /talisman to be given to the devotees are charged by chanting powerful mantras.
