Mahatma Gandhi Ashram

Highly recommended especially to visit with your parents . The old architecture and the history related to this is really something that one must witness. In house weaving section where all the Khadi clothes are woven, you can see the process and buy it too!

It's my second visit on Ashram. And this time I was able to part of Gandhi Jayanti here. The team of ashram, maintained Gandhi's all residential structure, belongings, trees planted by Gandhi, School running by Gandhi, even thoughts very well. They all bring me on Gandhi era. Here I felt touch with nature.

There is sarvadharma prayer happening daily at 05:30 am and 06:00 pm, i witnessed both.

There was no ticket for entry fee. There is Khadi Cloths, Food & goods item and books shop. Book shop is full of books belonging to Gandhi's life and thought.

There is "Yatri Nivas" infront of Ashram. It's having clean room and peaceful natural environment.

Roadside free parking available. On holidays gets crowded.
Limited accommodation available on nominal charges.

Place is maintained neatly.
No fee, free entry. Timings are 8:00AM to 5:00PM
There is only Bapuji lived house and limited things available for display which was used by Bapuji.
Staying also available. However, need to book prior. Prices are reasonable and may check directly.

A place where Gandhiji stayed for 10 years, from 1936 to 1946.
1. Adi Kuti ( Kuti where he lived during initial days )
2. Ba Kuti ( special Kuti built for Kasturba)
3. Bapu Kuti ( Kuti where Bapu lived)
4. Akhari Kuti ( the last Kuti where he stayed and left for Satyagrah and never came back)
Also the kitchen of Ba can be visited.
You can also get to listen to the history. The staff will guide you through the major events and milestones of life of Gandhiji.

A place of historical importance. Lots of memories of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi ji had been preserved in this museum cum aashram. Quite place. Good for kids and family.

The place is keep and quite. Enjoy peaceful atmosphere. Better to open your shoes at one place and have a walk barefeet it it's not hot, because you need to open shoes every time to go inside. Admire the place, not to touch anything.

Gandhi Ashram is the symbol of Simplicity. Must visit place at least once in lifetime. Ashram’s is maintained by the income generated through Khadi weaving and selling them from the store located at the entrance. Staff is also very Co-operative.

The place preserves the simplicity of bapu, also the ambience is very calm, clean and pleasant. It is 32-17C as it is November. Those who need to disconnect themselves from the busy world and spend some quality time with the inner self.. this is the place.

Beautiful place to visit when you are in Wardha, don’t miss the food from Aahar Kendra.

First up all these houses are made by bapu.
Bapu kept 3 conditions in front of contractor (house maker)
1.the whole house expenses should not be above 500 rs.
2. The material used in making house should be from 20 or less km..
3. At any corner of the house, sunlight should be present.
But all the contractors failed then Bapu to buy his hand make the house.
This house is made up of limestone, Bambu, cow dung, soil.

It's a really good place to know about Gandhi ji, it is a very peaceful, clean, green environment, well maintained and follows opening and closing time strictly.

It is auspicious occasion for me to come and see the attachment of the individual to the Nature. Words are few to explain the experience.
75 km away from Nagpur , Wardha is located in beauty of Nature. Though nowadays is known for medical college, still it keeps legendary of glorious history of freedom fight.
Ashram is as in condition so to maintain and to sustain the memory of Mahatma Gandhi.

My personal experience as a traveller was mind satisfying. One will always move with race and competition should be suggested to visit once this place... You'll find inside you on your own.

Amazing place Holi place where the angel of AHINSA lived. Place where Bapu lived place is called as BAPU KUTI, in sevagram. All the things used by the Bapu are kept here as a monuments includes paperwaigh,Mala,Charka, shawl,Jat (Chakki )etc. Also THE residence of Ba is also available for visit. The atmosphere is very calm and Silent good place for getting touch with our inner peace. Many tourist visits the place and Get knowledge about the Bapu's principal for living ideal life.

The arrangements for lunch, breakfast is also available there in very reasonable rate with quality food one must taste the puran poli, Ambadi sharbat, the Thali is very very tasty and yummy full of maharashtrian dishes.

Very shant, cool and the place environment gives peace of mind. Loved the vibes.

Best place for one day picnic with family specially with kids the environment is very good there several things to know about Mahatma Gandhi life.

We travelled by our cycle here on new year day at Wardha from NAGPUR city
Total km 85 from NAGPUR .
Save fuel save environment was our moto to ride cycle.
We reached our destination in evening at 5:00 pm .
At WARDHA we reached at 11 pm .
We enjoyed the day here .

Gandhiji spent last 12 years of his life at this Sevagram Ashram and hence this place gains importance. More deatila about the ashram are available on wikipedia.

What to see here_
1. The huts where Gandhiji lived. It shows us how simple life Gandhiji lived with bare minimum necessities.
2. Bapu's office. Here we get to see various things that Gandhiji used, including an old type writer and telephone.
3. Museum : on opposite aide of the road is a museum depicting Gandhiji's life and various events.
4. Yatri niwas : though this ia not something you go and watch but you can always find this place very serene and silent for your stays with pleasant food.
5. Nai Taleem : a school which runs on Gandhiji's thoughts of educational system.

Too Good And Quite place that was amazing experience of my life.... Open Morning to Evening 5 to 5:30 around .... Also thire have Khadi Gruh udhyog shopes hand made khadi's clothes and many more items....In Evening prayer time many Kutis are there.... really I personally recommend sure visit Bapu's kuti....
