I'm a 1st prof. MBBS student of this college and I can strongly tell that this is the best faculty I have ever meet. The infrastructure, laboratory, hostels, and the teachers all are awesome. Thank God for giving me this college and a historical moment for being the 1st batch of BGMC&H

Barasat Government Medical College and Hospital is a newly developed medical college under CSS II. This Medical College is situated on a 20.53 acres land in the existing campus of Barasat District Hospital, Barasat, Mouza- Banamalipur (JL No:- 80) & Uttarhat (JL No:-78) North 24 parganas, West Bengal. PIN-700124.

As at present North 24 Parganas is the most populous District in India so the establishment of this Medical Institution will cater patients care service to a large population.

Directorate of Medical Education, Government of West Bengal is the regulatory authority.100 MBBS students. Students will be admitted annually through NEET(NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST) (UG) from 2022-23 session after obtaining from letter of permission from National Medical Council.

DNB courses on different disciplines with a total of 16 seats allotted by NBE are already running in this Institution.

The foundation stone of this Medical College was laid by Honbl’e Chief Minister of West Bengal Smt Mamata Banerjee on 22nd February, 2019.

The Barasat Government Medical College and Hospital College is comprising of teaching block, administrative block, a new OPD complex, Students’ hostel, residents’ doctors’ quarters, Nurses’ quarters, Teaching staffs’ quarters and Non-Teaching staffs’ quarters.

Hospital was good.
Hygiene and clean environment.
But there was not much of sitting places.
Waiting list was very long.
The entrance of gate 11 need to be made an road instead of mud road.
Blood bank and hospital were accessible.
Wheel chair also there.
Overall i rate it 5 stars.

Though there are various grounds of improvement such as expansion and maintenance of medical equipment and cleanliness, still one must understand the complex government support it needs to do that.

This hospital is extremely loaded with patients and improvements are slow because government's income is very less as u can get all the treatment for a nominal price of Rs. 2 but still it is improving year by year especially surgery department has improved a lot. It is the only district hospital in West Bengal where surgeons are performing micro surgeries ( laparoscopic) everyday. This hospital has the capacity to become a medical college.

This place is awesome, as West Bengal chief minister have declared declared about the free treatment of patients ,so it does that . This place is loaded with patients all the daytime and night. Government renovate it .And now it is much better than before.

One of the best Government Hospital in West Bengal

Good service, I was admitted over here, most people says that the is no proper treatment but I would like to say Its a myth.
The services are really good, but only issue is that over crowd

Patients are treated carefully by well behaved doctors. Super of the hospital is a gentle and very helpful person.
