Gurudwara Singh Shaheedan, located in Sohana, Mohali, is a place of great historical and religious significance for the Sikh community. The gurudwara is dedicated to the memory of the Sikh martyrs Shaheed Baba Hanuman Singh ji 7th Jathedar of Budh dal and Jathedar of Akaal takht who sacrificed their lives for their faith and principles. He was the successor of Akali Phula Singh. He was the first one who fought against the British. He attained martyrdom during a battle with the British and Patiala State in 1846.

After defeat of the Sikh Empire against the British, Jathedar decided to re-group the Nihang Sikh army against the British at the Patiala Chauni. Raja Karam Singh was ruler of Patiala and other Malwa Kingdom was in alliance with British. There were strict orders to shoot Nihangs on sight. When Jathedar Hanuman Singh arrived at Patiala, Raja Karam Singh launched a cannon attack on Nihangs, in which many Nihang Singhs were killed. Rest were forced to move to the forests nearby. Baba Hanuman Singh and around 500 Nihang warriors survived this attack, and continued to fight the heavy cannon fire of the British, with swords, bows and arrows, axes and matchlock fire.

After the battle of Sohana, Baba Hanuman Singh was wounded badly and died at the battle of Sohana, Mohali at the age of 90. He was the first freedom fighter who fought against British for their independence.

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fatch 🙏🏻

This is main Gurudwara of Sohana Mohali. Lot of great about this Gurudwara as apart from religious services, langar there are other community services etc are also being run. New building and diwan hall became functional. Main hall where Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji s parkash and keertan being performed is biggest in the area. Modern and traditional heritage sikh architecture used to construct this and interior is made very beautiful as shown in pics attached. Full marble work done from outside. There is separate AC hall for organizing Akhand paths by the devotees along with Sukh Assan asthan also shown in pics. In the evening if you want to have Darshan in open visit before 8.30PM as at 9 PM sukhassan means traditional of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji happens. This Gurudwara is in the memory of Sant Shaeed Baba Hunuman Singh ji who made Supreme sacrifice to protect this mother land.

What can I say? Religious place to worship and all doors are open to people of any kind and type.

A Sikh Holy place which is full of spirituality and positivity. One can get a peace of mind here. It also organises langar (free food) on Sikh religious occasions. Being situated on main road it's easy to reach and has washroom and parking facilities. Very nice people.
It's better to walk here or take a cab on Sikh occasions as a lot of people visit here.

Blissful and heart-warming place. Beauty of sikhi reflects at this place. Built in huge area which makes it a wonderful place to visit. Big parking space, so don't worry. But, please take care of water leakage near sewa ghar.

Only Gurudwara with langar sewa and best place for commuters to halt in Mohali for a while in pious environment and road goes to different locations from this place.
