Khajjiar Lake

I visited Khajjiar shortly after the monsoon (one of the best seasons to visit). It is a sprawling green meadow with a marsh lake in the middle and surrounded all around by deodar trees. There is a cottage run by Himachal tourism situated right in the meadow (the iconic photo that you see when you search Khajjiar in Google), where you can book your stay through the Himachal tourism website. It was lush green and the weather was pleasant in September. The good thing about Khajjiar is that it's not overcrowded (yet). There is so much fresh air and tranquility. You can take a good walk around the perimeter and then sit on a bench and enjoy the view how much ever you want. This place is a great escapade from the noise and crowd of the city.

Visiting Khajjiar Lake in Himachal Pradesh was an enchanting experience that left me awe-inspired by nature's beauty. The moment I reached this picturesque location, I was greeted by the breathtaking landscape of lush green meadows, surrounded by towering deodar trees.

I took a peaceful stroll around the lake, absorbing the tranquility and enjoying the cool breeze that gently caressed my face.

Khajjiar which is also known as Mini Switzerland truly lives up to its name. This majestic place is a must visit place in your lifetime. There are hardly any places like this in india other than Kashmir Doodh Pathri. I visited this place multiple times but every time this place feels special. Visited this place 9 months back too.

It is a very peaceful place, and lots of greenery. I would recommend going with family and friends to spend an entire day or can stay for couple of days. The route is pretty hilly so be careful if you are driving personal vehicle, for me it was wery wonderful experience.

We visited here on last week of December, 2022 and were lucky to get two entirely different views of Khajjiar lake on two consecutive days. On 29th, the place was very dry and on 30th, it was fully covered with snow. As per local people, it would be greener and more beautiful during May-June.

Iconic lake shown in bollywood movies especially in Rishi Kapoor's movies, The Khajjiar Lake. I went there with lots of expectations and although 80% passed as natural beauty of this lake is amazing but mankind failed by 20%, we ruined it.. it shrinked badly. I don't know the reason but it happened .. Khandar ko dekh ker laga ki imarat buland rahi hogi.. we had great time around the bugiyaals of lake. Good spot for spending 1-2 hours easily and for family picnic

This is a small hamlet valley in the midst of mountain forests and high peaks. Its beautiful when cloudy and even prettier when sunny! Too many tourists, but it still holds on to its beauty. Happy to see, tourists have littered less here.

beautiful and calm place to spent a day with family or friend.It is know as Mini switzerland. Khajjiar lake is very small,there is no water activities here. There is only green ground between high hills. Deodar tree and green grass makes beautiful view. Cold breeze and fresh sun light fill your life with freshness. shops for eating and hotels for staying is available here. You can camping in the night. But concern with locals there is risk of wild animals also.
You can do paragliding, Horse riding etc.
for enjoying snow visit in Jan and feb month,
avoid visit in monsoon season.
Try to book hotel in Dalhousie come in day time and go back to hotel in the evening.
There is a good temple of khajji nag to visit.

Beautiful place, Well know as India mini Switzerland. surrounded by forests. Trekking opportunities for mountain trekkers. Quite a famous hill station during summers. A must go place with family.

A very peaceful and heavenly place. We went there at about 9a.m. The sunlight was bright, snow had melted and the scenerio was just perfect. It seemed like we had suddenlg emtered paradise.
Though these days population is more. And photographers keep asking you to click photos.
But it is a very nice place. No wonder why Khajjiar is called the Switzerland of India.

Khajjiar is hill station in the Chamba,Himachal Pradesh, India . Very beautiful hill station, which is surrounded by cedar forest . It will take around 1:30 Hours (Approx 25 Kms )from Dalhousie to reach Khajjiar. The moment you will reach , your eyes 👀 will stuck with the wonderful natural beauty. It is also known as mini Switzerland of India.

Its a beautiful & must visit place. It's full of greenary. There people is also good. U can click photos with a rabbit or a bird with unlimited photograph with it.

This beautiful place is one of the popular spots because of its striking views. It is a huge landscape surrounded by ample amount of evergreen trees. It is a perfect place for para-gliding. There are numerous recreational activities and places to eat. The most interesting part is the ambience of the place. However, the lake is on the verge of shrinking.

Very nice place-Without Snow visit only with Family unless it feels like normal Garden.But in snow its total Owsum place. you can even enjoy the journey and place is too beautiful.
