It is Official District Bird of Wardha...By garnering 58% votes, Indian Roller, popularly called as ‘Nilpankh’ in local parlance, won the race for ‘Bird of Wardha’ by a thumping majority defeating its nearest rival White Breasted Kingfisher by a margin of over 21,400 votes. the place appears while entering City from North-East Direction ie From Nagpur.. It is placed on Aurangabad Nagpur National Highway and there are many Heavy vehicles which travel by this Road.. It was not just about elections but creating interest among people about bird life and environment.Nilpankh had generated lot of interest among the people being Indian Roller.
