All the sangams are very powerful places. Around south East Asia temples were built in sangams. Rudraprayag is a powerful sangam of alakananda and mandakini river. The rivers are brown and green and the holy rivers are merging here to become alakananda. The river colours the powerful chamunda temple in the ghat and rudranath shiva temple above the ghat makes it an amazing place to meditate after taking a refreshing dip.

The majestic confluence of the river Alaknanda and Mandakini is a breathtaking view, both the rivers in different colors merging into one and called as Alaknanda.
Alaknanda becomes Ganga at Devprayag.
As one gets glued to the beauty of the river, this place gives eternal peace of mind and solace.

In the heart of the Himalayas, where the mountains touch the sky and the rivers sing hymns of ancient tales, lies a sacred journey that beckons the intrepid traveler. Embarking on a pilgrimage from the charming city of Belagavi to the hallowed grounds of Rudraprayag, en route to the revered shrine of Kedarnath, was a voyage that transcended physical boundaries and touched the deepest recesses of my soul.

As I crossed state borders and ventured deeper into the heart of Uttarakhand, the sacred aura of Rudraprayag began to make its presence felt. The town, nestled at the confluence of the holy Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, exuded an otherworldly charm. The air was thick with devotion, and the echo of ancient chants seemed to reverberate through the very stones.

Rudraprayag's serene landscapes seemed like a prelude to the grandeur that lay ahead. As I stood on the banks of the confluence, my eyes were treated to a spectacle of divine beauty. The rivers, pure and untamed, merged with an elegant grace, their union a metaphor for the spiritual journey that pilgrims undertake to attain oneness with the divine.

In conclusion, my pilgrimage from Belagavi to Rudraprayag on the way to Kedarnath was an odyssey of the spirit. It was a testament to the human spirit's yearning for the divine, a voyage that intertwined culture, nature, and devotion into a tapestry of unforgettable memories. This journey has reaffirmed my belief in the power of travel to touch the soul, and I will forever cherish the moments spent traversing the mystical landscapes of Uttarakhand on two wheels.

Very few places where you see 2 rivers meeting and combining into one.
A place you'll never feel like leaving.
The calm nature of river on the right gives you soothing feeling, while the rough, fast and hunky flow of the river on the left takes your breath away and shows you its wrath.
Indeed a place worth visiting!

Was there on the 21st of April '23' and went to the Sangam of the Mandakini with the Alaknanda.
Very beautiful place and peaceful with a small, beautiful temple on the way down to the river. There is also a mesmerising carving of Narada singing to Rudra avatar of Shiva.

The Temple above the road is also very enchanting with a vedashala attached.

Feel very blessed to have visited this Divine place.
