Ma Nachinda temple is a very popular and oldest temple of Purba Medinipur district. The people of paschim medinipur and Jhargram also come here to worship. It is a temple of Ma Shitala. Everyday hundreds of bikes and cars come to give "Puja" for his/her first car. I visited this temple many times. In the festival of "Akshay Tritiya" there organized a big fair in front of the temple.

Machines is a very renowned religious place..It's around 15km away from Contai town towards Kolkata.New vehicles are brought here to inaugurate them with the rituals of ma Nachinda. There is also an interesting fact about the temple.Here Devi is given non veg prasadam or offerings.The ambience is very much soul soothing and religiously relieving.
