I recently visited New Udapi Ananda Bhavan at Lalbagh Chowk in Bangalore, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. We ordered Medu Wada and Tea, and they delivered the flavors that old favorites are known for.

It is a pocket-friendly outlet serving delicious South Indian dishes which includes Dosa, Vada, Idli etc. Its located just outside the Lalbagh Garden. Just an ideal place for a quick bite.

It's the best place to have pure vegetarian and authentic south indian food. The paper masala dosa is the best. Idli and vada is soft. Even the filter coffee is super. It's absolutely value for money. It's just opposite to the main Lalbagh gate.

Pros:
Their AB special dosa is a must try. That was a whole lot better than CTR's masala dosa.
Food was too good. All quality, quantity and taste were perfect.
The price was around Rs 70 for dosa.

Cons:
The chairs were not comfortable.
Could be maintained clean.
UPI is not accepted. Payment is through cash.
The cashier was a bit arrogant and unresponsive to customers.

Fast and simple. The menu is basically, but the food is good and the price is great. Seems to be popular with all the locals getting some lunch.

Close to lal bagh, simple south Indian food available, very good service, very low prices and tasty food. I even asked for extra aloo with Puri which they gave for free. Paper Masala dosa was very tasty and Vada was perfectly crispy. Small restaurant but peaceful good service with old world charm.

AB Spl Dosa is a must try. In only Rs. 40, it is worth every penny.

We we're actually having a hard time finding the right food. And this place just serves right. The food was absolutely tasty, and during our whole stay we had our 3 course meal from here only. I really loved this place a lot. And the servers are really--really polite and they were not ignorant like I had experienced in some other restaurants.

Exceptional food. Medu Vada is must. It is the best in bengalore. Coffee butter milk everything is great and very low price.

This is one of the best place to have food when you're around lalbagh, urvashi theatre, passport seva kendra office or any nearby areas!! One of the best meals you will get at a very very affordable price of 70 rupees. I actually came here bychance. When we compare maavalli tiffin rooms and this I bet you won't even argue to go to MTR, as this is way more affordable and classy (when we compare prices). You get justice to the money you spend here and I bet you will have a nice time. South meals are the best here!! You will get rasam, sambar, rice, 4 puris, bisibele baath, kesri baath, masala conrnflakes, payasam and all other ordinary meal menu... only at rupees 70!!!!! Hygiene and cleanliness can be given a 3 star on 5.
Do not ever miss to have food here if you're nearby.

The first place where I first went out to eat after I reached Bangalore. If you're going to visit Lalbagh, then this is the place where you should eat. It'll wipe out all your hunger and fatigue from roaming in the garden all day ;)
First of all, everything is very simple- from menu to ambiance to waiters and obviously the food. We had Idli, Vadas, Uttapam but the show stoppers were Masala Dosa and the Coffee. Simple and amazing. Couldn't have asked for more. Such a perfect balance of all the ingredients in the coffee, just the way a coffee lover would want in his drink. And that too at very nominal rates. There were 3 of us and we were full in INR 255 only!!
Don't go by the looks of the restaurant, just give it a try. Once!

PS- I tried to review it on Zomato, but unfortunately couldn't find it there. If anyone of you does, then please let me know.

I can bet that there's no better restaurant than this in entire Bengaluru. I vouch for this place. Try the AB SPL dosa or the south indian meals or the bhili Bheet. And yes the filter coffee is WOW!!!

Real pleasures are in simplicity, authenticity, homely hospitality...all found here. Tasty hygienic food served with affection. Will eat here again and again.

Good place for breakfast after a morning walk at Lalbagh. Coffee os great here and you will get a place to sit, unlike its famous neighbour MTR.

The best masala dosas I have had in my life. Staff was very polite and always smiling. Food was excellent and very low cost. Absolutely loved it

Decent Hotel With Affordably Priced Menu.They Are Good In Serving The Food Hot.Even If You Come Here At 12:00pm At Lunch Time You Can Get Delicious Hot Idlies And Dosa.

A good place to have veg snacks. Food is really tasty here and costs are also quite reasonable.
The tea here is exceptionally good.
