Sri Vyagra Lakshmi Narasimha swamy know as shobhanachala swamy atop of hill named shobhanachala temple was built by then Nuzivid Zamindar

750+ step to climb the top of hill to have a darshan of main deity and there is Lord Ganesha and lord Siva atop to be visited due to lack of maintenance temple premises and most of the structures are in damaged condition..

Devotees go for darshan of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha before climbing footsteps.

Peaceful and one of the oldest temple. Beware of monkeys. Steps and car route is also accessible to reach shobanachala swamy temple on Aagiripalli hills . Sivalayam is also situated at peak of the hills. To reach sivalayam steps route is the only way. Radhasapthami is celebrated well.

This temple seems something different in the selection of place and hill. Very natural atmosphere and pleasant views around. A must visit if you are searching for all Narasimha swami temples across Andhra Pradesh.

Sri Vyagra Narasimha Swamy temple is located at a hill in Akiripalli in Krishna district. This is about 25 km from Vijayawada. There are two temples for Lord Narasimha - one down and one up in the hill The hill is also known as Sobhanachalam or Sobhanadri. A king by the name of Subhavrata meditated and was blessed with a vision of Narasimha and Shiva on this hill. The hill is known as Sobhanadri after the king Subhavrata. This hill temple is a cave shrine to Vyagra Narasimha.
Higher up there is a temple to Malleswara Shiva.

One has to climb about 740 steps to reach the hill temple. There is no Ghat road to reach to the top and hence vehicles can just come up only till the Narasimha temple which is down.
However all the members of our 25 odd members including elders could climb the hill. Its home to a lot of flora and fauna .. not to forget the monkeys. The scenery out there is bewitching

Currently Archaga Swami lights the Deepam, does Pooja and closes the hill temple at 6 PM. Nobody stays in between. However you can have darshan of Lord through the gate which are made of Iron Rods.
There is a big temple down which has shrines to Lord Narasimhar, Rajyalakshmi Thayar, and the Alwar saints. The Varaha theertham or tank is located to the west of the hill. Legend goes that Mahavishnu in his Varaha avatara dug this tank. Hence the name Varaha Pushkarini. It is called as Ananta Sarasu. Water from this Pushkarini is used in Poojas. The word kiri in the name Akiripalli refers to Varaha. In olden days flowers from the garden of Bhoga Mandaparm here were sent to Bhadrachalam for Sita Rama Swamy. Do see my photos with the review and like it if you find it useful.

Timings 7.30 am to 12 .00 noon
Evening 4.30 pm to 7 pm
Prefer morning time for temple darshanam at uphill that has just 1000+ steps. Go in groups for uphill as monkeys are moving in large numbers

This temple dedicated to Lord narasimha, self incarnated idol of narasimha and Shiva can be seen after climbing 600 steps, one can reach this temple as ample number of buses fly from Vijayawada and nuzvid.one can see several rituals like narasimha jayanti and kartika deepotsavam, there is another idol that has been installed by at the foot hill, pilgrims should be cautious about monkeys although they won't hurt the people as they may take your stuff, one can also reach Hanuman junction abhayanjaneya temple located 20km from this temple as there is bus facility for every 3 hours, one can see the abhisekam performed daily and we can see the nija roopa darshanam at the time of Abhishekam
