The Out Patient Department (OPD) Block of CMC ((Christian Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre is situated In Vellore about 200 kms from Bangalore so also 200 Kms from Chennai on Bengaluru to Chennai National Highway, near Vellore Fort, near Katpadi Railway station, near Busstand. The multi storey OPD Block attracts nearly 9000 patients daily out of which 70% are from West Bengal & Bangla Desh. The hospital is a mini India since patients hail from length & breadth of India so also nearby countries of the world. Getting an inpatient bed is extremely difficult unless it is an emergency case or needing surgery immediately. Strict procedures are followed for OPD whatever may be the condition of the patient or however influential a person may be. Emergencies are attended like a military precision activity by taking three seconds to fix the oximeter, BP measurement, Oxygen hood all simultaneously from Ambulance to bed. Superb coordination of sisters, doctors, paramedics etc. Then the patient's data is gathered simultaneously. Each ward is attached with a pharmacy stored with all medicines applicable to the specialisation like U-Urology, C- Cardiology, G- Gynaecology, O- Orthopaedics, N-, Nephrology etc., hence medicines appropriate are stored to dispense immediately but all through bank payments. Exceptional precision, service oriented, extreme speciality centred state of the art equipment, specialists etc. Blood sample section @ groundfloor is managed by hundreds of sisters with ready to take blood by ultramodern syringes self locking self protected identified procedures.
