Pathorighat is one of the revenue circle of the district of Darrang Assam. It is a significant place of importance which played a major role in rising against British rule in India. In Jan 1894 farmers (exact figure unknown) of nearby villages gathered around the revenue circle building to protest against enhanced revenue to DC. But the Britishers started unprovoked firing which killed a large number of peasants , officially 140 and a large number of them are injured. It is also known as Jallianwala Bagh of Assam.
Now a Krishak Swahid Memorial is being constructed at that place and in Jan 28 every year Krishak Diwas is organised to commomerate the event. A park is being constructed around the memorial.

She was married to Susenghphaa, a ruler of the Ahom kingdom. Mangaldoi serves as the administrative headquarters of Darrang district.
