Tekhla Rock Climbing Area (NIM)

This is a great place to practice rock craft, though it is not available for people who are not admitted for any course in Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi. I liked the place very much. The views here are amazing, and the trek....inexplicably perfect!

This is the property of NIM which is 9 kms far from the NIM campus.
There are different types of Rocks for different activities and all the rock crafting training is done here.

Tekhla is training area of NIM for rock climbing where we taught hai to ascend or descend on rock and long rock pitches.

On daily basis we trek for 2 hours to reach there and learn the rock climbing techniques. It has amazing natural rock pitches and boulders to practise and enhance your climbing skills.

NIM is the best.

Tekhla rock climbing area is controlled by Nehru institute of mountaineering. This institute is part of home ministry govt of India. I have done rock climbing course from here. Mountaineers like Arunima sinha, Bachendri Pal, Santosh yadav who climbed Everest later were trained here. Foreigners also come here for mountaineering course. Tekhla is in the lap of nature.

It's a rock climbing practice area. Who are pretty much excited to experience rock climbing, they can apply bmc to nim. It's included in their course. Or if you want to practice here by yourself, you have to apply to nim. They will charge you some money as per day. It's not that expensive. The place is quite good for practicing. Different types of rocks are there. You will get fresh water there. Because there are some taps for collecting fresh water and toilets also.

A great place to practice rock craft. Very good slopes. Very well maintained by Nehru Institute of Mountaineering.

It's a place controlled by Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. Its a nice area to practice rock climbing professionally. We can lean from the beginning. Since it is controlled by NIM one have to obtain permission to conduct practice. NIM rock climbing training is done here.

Very good trekking place maintained by NIM Uttarkashi. Stayed 3 days and 2 nights at tekhla. During stay we completed various rock climbing, grappling, river crossing, night march etc. Really enjoyed the stay.

Really amazing place of practicing rock climbing.
But It's very own place of NIM.
So no permission for un authorize climbing.
It’s only 8k.m away from NIM campus.
MOD of India developed nice infrastructure here.
