First Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Ponangi Village, One of the Village Fisherman found Tortoise with Sri Venkateswara Swamy Avatar on its shell in early 1990's. Eventually Tortoise passed away then Village Hindu committee constructed this Sri Kurmavathara Venkateswara Swamy Temple
