It is a much talked place in Amritsar for Veg food lovers and certainly ticks all the boxes for its popularity.
It has got simple ambience & quick service. If you are looking for good vegetarian food in Amritsar, it’s a must place to visit. We tried Dal Makhni, Paneer Tikka masala and both the items were really yummy.

Wonderful place …..Food was Lovely …..Everyday a lot of footfall is witnessed here . I just love this place . Firni was one of my favourite sweet dish . If you are visiting Amritsar go for this option for your food . It is nearby Golden Temple (between Railway station and Golden temple ) infront of Partition Museum .

They took their special thaali that includes cholle, paneer, special dal makhani, sabji and raita. But instead had 2 different thalis in place which were very good too.
Maybe they bring back that jumbo thalli.
Desserts were just mouth watering tasty.
Gulab jamun, phirni on point.
My all time favourite was dal makhani point blank period.
Aloo kulcha also tasted phenomenally scrumptious.

We heard a lot about this amazing place so thought of giving it a try. Generally there are places which are over hyped by influencers. But trust me this one is amazing! It was very crowded but the sitting area is huge as well. A lot of staff is also there. We had to wait in the queue for our turn.
Food is amazing. Dal makhni was too good. The way the flavour infuses in your mouth is just.. I can’t explain in words. My mouth is watering🤤 even when I’m writing this review thinking of that dal. 😛 Paneer and other all dishes are too good. Nice and Air conditioned. Staff and service is quick as well. Toilets and washing area could improve. Totally recommended. Please do give a like if you found my review helpful! 👍 Thank you!

Bharawan Da Dhaba is a popular eatery right by the Partition Museum turning out delicious plates of North Indian vegetarian food. The classic dish of Amritsar is Amritsari Kulcha with Chole. The kulcha was a fried flatbread stuffed with a filling of minced potatoes and covered with a shimmering layer of desi ghee and spices. The dough of the flatbread was perfectly thin and crispy yet chewy, and it paired perfectly with the chole (dark chickpea curry), raita (yogurt mixed with boondi), and chopped onions/radishes on the side. I also got the Special Deluxe Thali, which came with dal makhani (finished with lots of ghee), paneer butter masala, channa, raita, jeera rice, and a layered paratha flatbread, which went perfectly with all the different curries, making for a balanced meal. The prices here came at an unbelievable value, and the atmosphere was clean and lively too.

Subhash Vij joined his father in running the more-than-century-old Bharawan Da Dhaba in 1975 after completing his graduation. The dhaba, a 10-minute walk from the Golden Temple in Amritsar, was started by Subhash’s grandfather in 1912 in a tent after he came from Sialkot, Pakistan, to settle in the border town. Today, Bharawan Da Dhaba, which specialises in traditional Punjabi food, is considered to be a must-visit on every tourist’s itinerary who visits Amritsar. The restaurant provides a wide range of Punjabi dishes, like stuffed kulchas with chole to makke di roti with sarson da saag, to name a few. Currently, Subhash’s son has joined him in the business, and together, they are running three branches in the city. Subhash (63) says the dhaba went through many upheavals due to wars with Pakistan and militancy, but they kept their focus on championing taste and service. Today, the chain of restaurants in the city is clocking a turnover of over Rs 4 crore. In a video interview with SMBStory, Subhash shares the restaurant’s 106-year-old journey, their unique cooking methodology as well as the ingredients for success.
