Very nice temple, Too much peaceful ambience. Parking is ok. Very Powerful Devi. Very close to Calicut town

Good Location near to the Beach and the Kozhikode Town, easier for Transportation facilities. Blessed to visit Varakkal Sree Durga Devi Temple. Cave and Theertha sthal are another major features of this temple.

->Need more maintenance for the Cave & Theertha as they are considered very Holy in this temple.

All staffs in the temple are very friendly and helpful.

Varakkal Devi Temple in Kozhikode is considered to be the 108th and the last Devi temple built by Sree Parasurama, the legendary founder of Kerala. It is believed that Parasurama ploughed this area in order to make Devi (the goddess) appear. The main festival here is the Vavu Bali when thousands congregate to perform the ancestral obsequies. On this day, the sea is found to be surprisingly calm as if facilitating the religious observances.

One of the oldest temples.. Renovated few years back but still you can have that feel.. Goddess Durga is the main deity.. Nice ambiance..

Staff at the counter was very helpful. The temple is at a height and one need to climb about 20 steps to reach there. For men shirt, banyan etc are not allowed, but pants are allowed. Visited at around 7 am and surroundings were very calm and quiet at that time.

Calm and quiet place. It always gives me peace of mind when visiting this temple. There is something about this temple that soothes our tensions. The beach is also nearby in walkable distance while the temple itself is close to Westhill railway station.
