Savana Bekol

Been here countless of time and still want to pay a visit a lot more.

Great savanna, OK beach, splendid mangroves and mesmerizing views along the entrance and during the stay regardless the time of visit.

Mostly common animal that you can see is forest chickens, wild monkeys, various wild birds, peacocks, deers, bulls, and more.

The entrance road (and exit as well) was in great condition, smooth asphalt even though a bit bumpy. Ticket price is affordable for both local and int.tourists.

Most recommended place to stop by if you ever pass this Situbondo area in East Java.

Beautiful savanna with lush green and yellowish vegetation, as well as wild animals. Accessible tourist spot where you can wander around and take some pictures to decorate your social media grids

Nice place to refresh your eyes. In the rainy season, everything looks so greeny. A lot of monkey here, and they are so hyperactive! Must be careful because they can took your stuffs. This place have standard facility like toilet and praying room/mushola.

We've met and led by well-known local Pak Kasman. He was had whole nation park knowledge including savannah's ecology.
The savannah was well maintenanced, we can easily saw deers, buffalos, monkeys, and peacocks easily.
There are many facilities inside: toilets, food courts, and rest area.
Best scenery: during dawn or twilight.

weather was rainy season when i come to this placed,so view of savana bekol was a grassland meadow.
if summer youll get mini africa looks like,but in my opinion rainy season or summer all is amazing view.
i found a big big buffalo,and theres a set of skull animal such as buffalo and others.
savana bekol is conservation forest,from the entrance to savana bekol takes around 30 minute with slowly driving.
all the way youll find bird,butterfly,sounds of crickets,rare type of chicken (idontknowthename)
at the end the route you will find a beach,bama beach.
i think better come under 12.00,to skip the sun.

The soil crack tells the story. I love how you can see the end sight with just savana and the living creatures around; deer, monkeys, peacock, bulls (if you're lucky!). It's extremely hot so I'd suggest to wear extra UV protection or mind your timing when visiting.

Honestly a beautiful place, simply said. The view is astonishing and the sights are to die for.

The terrain is flat and pristine, and looks and feels like Africa's own savanas.

Recommendation for newcomers:
- Arrive early, somewhere between 2-3 AM (Trust me, it's worth the wake up call.)
- Wear warm clothing for the early morning, but if you plan to stay until sunrise and beyond, bring desert-approppriate clothes, it gets quite hot.
- Bring friends. Seriously, this view should not be kept alone.
- Travel light, if you plan to trek across the inner or outer paths in the Savana, make sure you carry a large amount of water and light equipment, the terrain is quite unsafe.
- Do not wear colorful anything's, monkeys there will grab anything not black, grey or dark in color. If you must bring something colorful, hide it within something that isn't.
- Don't stare into the monkeys' eyes, they will feel agitated and will become aggressive. If they are threatening you or are attacking you, use a stone or any small object (preferably disposable) and throw it at them, of that doesn't work run and call for aid.

This place is truly a place to visit and to enjoy your heart by seeing the wildlife up close just after visiting the Ijen Crater in Banyuwangi.

From the Ketapang harbour it will take about 1.5 hours smooth drive. If I'm not mistaken the entry tickets were about IDR 40k in total. IDR 15k per person (we are 2 persons) and 1 car for IDR 10k.

I've been here twice and I totally recommend to come here about 2 hours before the sunset so you can still go around and pampered by the sunset while you're heading back.

if you want to retreat to the wild then this is definitely a good place. you can see buffalo, bull, and deer here. there is also a beach not far from this savana

No need to go to Africa heheheee but can't found the wild animal

Very good place to take photos with nature. But need more extra skill of photography, because it’s hard to get good pictures with sun light directed right on our faces. And be careful with the monkeys.

This place is cool. Feels like i've been in middle of nowhere.

This national park is easily to be accessed by car, and close to the Bama beach. I recommend you to catch the sunset at this savanna, try to arrive before sunset. Slight update, on June 2018, the place going to be temporarily closed for four months due to access road repair project. Better plan your trip before June 2018 or after October 2018.
