It's a very memorable visiting Keraton Surakarta Hadiningrat, one of the most visited tourist attractions in Solo. Entrance fee is including explanation of history of the palace from very knowledgeable tour leader. While visiting field in the inner area, one must going barefooted (it's allowed to use shoes in the area). Totally learned very impressive histories.

Good place to know everything about Keraton Surakarta. They have many tour guides to explain every single detail of the palace. The knowledge of each tour guide is astonishing and makes you proud of our country history and cultures. Local government needs to give more attention to this place. This is a big treasure that remains in this country

bangunan bersejarah, senior dari seluruh kraton pecahan Kerajaan Mataram Islam. sayang kurang terurus karena berbagai faktor. semoga bisa dikelola lebih profesional seperti kraton sebelah.

this palace complex belongs to the most senior branch of the Islamic Mataram Kingdom dynast. It is huge and historic. yet, it desperately needs some upgrading in the management of its museum and its surrounding vicinity. i do hope that the public streets which runs through some parts of the palace complex can be manage in such a way to bring back the glory and majesty of this precious heritage

A palace full of history, even the Sultan still lives here. The whole complex was huge, and the area permitted to roam was limited.

In spite of the limited roaming area.. It's still a large area to explore.. The guide will explain a lot of details regarding the palace, the Sultan's family and its predecessors.

The relic stored here was well preserved and being showcased. There's also some miniature figure to show how some events goes on at this palace.

A great place to visit...

As one of the historical places in Surakarta, this palace holds many antique, unique and historical objects. entrance ticket for local tourists 15 thousand. besides that there is also a tour guide. If you want to go around the palace, you can use the available rickshaw or buggy transportation.

What a beautiful historical home filled with memories and emotions.

I was awestruck by how similar it looked to how I imagined a Keraton would be. My guide was so pleasant and informative, and answered all of my questions promptly. The ticket plus guide was around Rp. 85.000,- and I came 20 minutes before closing, yet I was so touched by how beautiful everything looked inside.

All items were authentic and genuine from the time.

I will be coming back.

It’s beautiful. Came here in morning, there’s food stall in front. So, you may take breakfast in here. For the night, it has Angkringan/Wedangan.

For the museum itself, it still beautiful but not so clean.

There’s lot of pedicab that provide tour around Keraton. Your driver will become your tour guide for only 50k.

Nice place. Especially while you love Indonesian palace style. It’s just too dusty. Please clean it well. Ticket price is about 15.000 IDR while I visited. To visit here, really a lil bit difficult and the road is not that spacious. The local are nice people.

It’s a palace. You need to pay 15.000 for local, I don’t know about foreigner. You can pay some guide to guide and explain. But, it’s just a little side of the palace that open for public.

The center of kasunanan surakarta. Nothth side of kraton, we may see North square of the Surakarta Palace, the center of entertainment, culinary and clothing sales in one place. ample parking space around the square.
Iconic place when visiting the city of solo, affordable prices and visitors can see Caucasian buffalo.

Nice museum with interesting items. It could use better lighting system. Sometimes it was too dark, sometimes the reflection prevented a good look at things. But I enjoyed my visit anyway.

As a long i could remember that said real keraton have alun2, U should use shoes otherwise should let ur feet naked, and wear sarong If U use pants, and sunglasses are not allowed, the guide explained everything very well and said this is the real keraton (has alun2 inside), many goddess statue, ceramics, chariot stuffs, and history about the sultans. Guide is very funny and nice however his explanations are all in Bahasa and more often in Javanese. If u like ancient stuffs and history then it should be in ur one of must visit list 😉 closed at 14.00 weekdays at 16.00 at weekend

One of the original Indonesian kingdom that still pure and keep its tradition and. I think it is one of the pure Indonesian kingdom. This palace can be visit and enjoy the inside of it but unfortunately that nowaday it is closed for public as the internal conflict of the kings’s families

You must do a ride or walk circling the historical surakarta kingdom keraton (palais) when you are in Solo. Through the north gate gladag, into north alun alun (square), along round palace wall inside, south ward to south square with its sacred albino buffalos, go up again out via famous pasar klewer. It is not as neat and as lively as yogya keraton, but this place is a decade older, with complex historical relation story with other surrounding kingdoms. You will find it like just went through a time tunnel. A must visit.
